Chapter 23: The Vampire Estate

“I’m not playing any of your games, Dulcinea,” Tommy hissed, walking further away from her down the hall.

“Please, keep me company,” Dulcinea begged.

Tommy rounded a corner and nearly ran into a statue. He grunted and jumped back.

No, it wasn’t a statue, it was Emilia. She had a playful smile on her lips.

Emilia lifted her finger to her lips, telling Tommy to be quiet.

Tommy nodded and hid behind Emilia.

When Dulcinea rounded the corner, she shrieked and jumped back.

“Oh my god! Emilia, what are you doing?” she asked.

“Looking for you. I’m hungry,” Emilia said.

Tommy smiled gratefully as Emilia slipped her arm around Dulcinea’s shoulders and guided her down the hall in the opposite direction.

He sighed with relief and continued on his own way. Dulcinea was like a puppy with a toy. She just kept coming back. He’d been trying to evade her, but she always found him.
