“Are you sure you’ll be alright?” My mom asked again. Her and my dad had been trying to leave the house for over twenty minutes, but she kept stalling.
“Mom, I’m not 10, I’ll be fine.” I replied the annoyance in my voice was starting to show. I had invited Carson over so we could talk, and I needed them out of the house. Sage had left to head back to campus shortly after our discussion, so it was the perfect opportunity.
“She’s fine.” My dad reiterated gently moving my mom to the door. They had a whole day planned at the garden center, then lunch with a few my dad’s colleagues and an art gallery opening that night, so as soon as they were gone, we could have the place to ourselves.
