Chapter 26

The school week was almost over, and we hadn’t seen or heard anything from Gabby. Which was good news. Carson attended a pack meeting a few nights ago and everything was seemed normal. So, it looked as though Gabby had decided to keep our secret after all. I was still incredibly nervous. I knew she didn’t like me; so, my only hope was that her desire to protect Carson, her friend, was greater than her hatred for me. He however didn’t seem worried at all.

“Everything will be okay.” He smiled slamming his locker door. He had way more faith in Gabby than I did. I was trying to trust him and their friendship, but something in the pit of my stomach didn’t feel right.

“I hope so.” I smiled.

The day was over, and I was anxious to get out of there. I had made a few low-grade potions that I wanted to try out after school.

“So, the Nature Reserve?” he asked as if reading my mind. I grinned at him.
