"People have been asking that question for a long, long time. " Vesryen answered, his scarlet eyes spiraling with malice. "Father had mentioned it once, but it never seemed to be a concern of his, so I always thought the same. Seems like I was wrong."
"Vita had said she could break the seal, but it would kill everyone within the barrier. I didn't put much thought into it back then. It should have been a red flag." I added, folding my arms over my bloodstained chest.
"The fog or, I guess, this spiritual essence around us seemed to have been the key. Do you know how it was created?"
"No, but I can ask around. There are sure to be researchers looking into this matter. Especially if it's artificial."
"It is," I assured him. "I can feel it. It was as if the forest itself was speaking to me."
Vesryn patted my head, warming my heart, as I looked up at his concerned expression. " You look sad."
