Assassination

Unable to break my gaze away from Little Ves, I couldn't help but stare, marveling at the difference between Crowe and him. They were one hundred percent different people when it came to involving themselves with others. It was odd but—

Ears twitching, my palm reached for Laevatein gripping its pummel, alerting Ves and Crowe. I felt my blood run cold as a sensation of death prickled my spine. The light within the skies was fleeting, leaving the winds whistling through the leaves. I shuttered as if the cold intent of Father settled over me.

"It's happening, isn't it," Vesyrn knowingly said without a need for me to explain. He rose, his clothing billowing with the winds. His eyes were unfathomable as the ocean as he stared into the forest.

"Crowe, stay with Ves," I told him. "Your stealth is shit, and your combat is singular. You and Ves can watch each other back."

"Iza." Crowe reached out, "We need to stay together."
