[An important character, Xiao, has strong emotions regarding your work]
[+20 System Credits]
Igarashi, who, who was walking with Sasori towards Mingyun Village, suddenly received some notifications from the system. 'Strong emotions... He got angry, didn't he?' Igarashi thought.
'I really shouldn't be drawing the guy's past that he doesn't want to share...' Igarashi felt slightly guilty. 'Still though, getting 20 credits right off the bat just because an Adeptus is angry... That's something else. Different from a god that liked the story... Do stronger emotions give more System Credits? Hmm...'
Igarashi shook his head dismissed those thoughts and focused on Sasori's battery. They soon arrived at a place that looked like a village.
Though, there was something amiss.
'There are no people...' Igarashi thought. The houses did not have any people and the place looks deserted. Coupled with the fact that they're the only ones here, it crept Igarashi even more.
"Sasori... Let's hurry up." Igarashi said
Sasori nodded and the two of them quickly left the village and went northwest where the abandoned mines are and where Noctilolucous Jade is abundant.
While walking, Igarashi felt something looking at him and looked behind to see nothing there. 'This is getting way too creepy...' Igarashi frighteningly thought.
"No more walking, RUN!" Igarashi suddenly told Sasori.
The latter was a bit confused at first before nodding. "Yes!"
Soon, the two of them dashed, not stopping for anything.
After a few minutes of running, Igarashi finally sighted the entrance to the abandoned mine.
He and Sasori entered it, and surprisingly, from the distance inside, there were about 3 Noctilucous Jade ores!
"Thank Goodness we found them quickly..." Igarashi breathed a sigh of relief. He then took out his tools from the system inventory and approached the ores. "Alright then, time to bring a lot for the next time you need a battery, Sasori."
"Umu. Thank you." Sasori thanked Igarashi. The latter smiled and patted his head. "Don't worry about it. Now, why don't we start collecting the ores?"
"Yes!" Sasori replied enthusiastically.
Soon, the sounds of metal clicking against stones were heard outside the mine entrance.
'This is surprisingly much easier to collect...' Igarashi thought as he picked up a big chunk of Noctilocous Jade. 'In the game, you just need a giant sword to collect these in an instant... I wonder if it works.'
Although he thought of that, Igarashi would not try it. They were already good with their tools.
After half an hour, Sasori and Igarashi collected roughly 20 pieces of Noctilucous Jade.
Seeing the pile of ores, Igarashi smiled and placed them in the system inventory.
"Alright let's go back." He said
Suddenly, the system's panel appeared in front of him.
[Would you like to use the return function?]
[Note: This function will consume 10 System Credits]
[Y/N]
'Wait, Return function? That exists?' Igarashi was starting to think about whether he should start testing many things to know more about the system's unknown functions. As for the system credits, it looked quite cheap, so why not?
However, instead of answering, the system still remained with that question. Something that Igarashi did not pay attention to anymore.
Seeing how convenient it was, Igarashi shrugged and tapped Sasori's shoulder. He then raised his hand to click the 'Y' button.
And soon, blue light started appearing around Igarashi and Sasori's bodies, and soon, the light started engulfing both of their bodies until they turned all-blue. After that, their bodies disappeared and returned to Liyue Harbor.
Silence once again covered the abandoned mine. However, the silence was disturbed when a tap on the ground was heard.
A figure suddenly emerged out of nowhere. It was Xiao.
He looked around and found that there was an activity in the area but did not find the culprits. "Tch." He clicked his tongue.
* * *
In Liyue Harbor, inside Igarashi's shop.
The inside of Igarashi's shop shined brightly with blue light before two figures appeared in the middle of the house.
Igarashi opened his eyes and looked around. "How convenient..." He muttered.
He then went to the couch and sat down. "I don't want to go back to Mingyun Village anymore..." He groaned.
"Yes, I saw many ghostly entities around the village and outside the mine while we were there." Sasori also sat down and added.
Hearing this, Igarashi freaked out. "Wait, so there really were ghosts?!"
Sasori nodded. "Many."
Igarashi shivered in fear as he heard this. Who wouldn't be scared of ghosts? Probably Hu Tao. "That's it. Next time we go there, we'll hire two, no, three adventurers to escort us."
He was not dealing with that horror stuff.
The two of them rested with Igarashi being scared out of his wits. As for the reason he's more scared of Ghosts instead of the Conqueror of Demons? Well, Xiao had made an oath in the past that he would not lay his blade to humans unless they were tainted by his karmic debt or corrupted by the abyss. According to his lore, of course.
And it is also one of the reasons he would not like to get near humans. For the fear of them being tainted by his Karmic Debt and forced to slay them.
So Igarashi wasn't really that worried that Xiao would hunt him down. Yeah... Definitely.
After resting for about an hour and eating something, Igarashi finally decided to open his shop again.
He went to the door and opened it. Once he did, he saw that there were a few people waiting outside his door.
When they saw him, they immediately got happy and started ordering some manga.
"Boss, you're back! I bought my sister here today to buy your book!" One man said
"Boss, what took you so long? I've been dying to see what my friends are fussing over about~" One woman jokingly complained
"Boss, take my money and give me one copy!" One man yelled at the back
Seeing all their reactions, Igarashi smiled. "Alright then, everyone. Line up!"
The customers nodded and nodded at the side of his shop. Igarashi went back inside and was about to take out some copies he made yesterday when a knock came from the door.
"Boss Yunru, I heard you're back?" A voice of a male came. The door opened revealing Mo Fan.
"Oh, Mo Fan, you're just in time. Wanna help us on this one?" Igarashi smiled and invited Mo Fan. The latter smiled and nodded.
"Alright, boss." He replied.
Just before sitting down on his own chair with a desk, Mo Fan suddenly thought of something and asked Igarashi. "By the way, Boss, when will a new series come out? I know that 'Your Name' is still popular and all, but sooner or later, it will die down. Do you have anything in mind, Boss?"
"..." Igarashi stayed silent for a moment. He had already anticipated this. Sooner or later, many people would come to his shop, buy one copy, and only return if there is a new release. Not only that, but with Liyue Harbor's competitive people, sooner or later, some people would start copying his style.
But of course, why would Igarashi allow that? He would naturally monopolize this business and keep it growing on his side by making more great mangas. Capitalism at its finest.
'Right, there's that one...' Igarashi thought.
He then looked at Mo Fan with a serious look. "Prepare yourself, my dear editor. We're gonna do something that will leave a deep mark on our reader's minds."
Seeing Igarashi's eyes that looked like they were concocting some sort of plan, Mo Fan subconsciously gulped and couldn't help but ask. "What exactly... Are we gonna make, boss?"
Igarashi's serious face soon changed. His lips curved up to form a sinister smirk as he looked at Mo Fan. "A new series. It's gonna be called 'Re:Zero'."
The novel from his previous life that gave its main character immense trauma and psychological pain. Surely, it would gain some attention from a few people.
Though, he learned his lesson from 'Your Name' and he will modify the manga to suit the world. 'Yeah, I need to modify them... No more modern times in my work.'
But of course, the iconic name of Natsuki Subaru shall not be changed.
Igarashi smiled again and secretly thought: 'This will do it... In addition, I should add Avatar: The last air bender too...'
He knows that Re:Zero is not for everyone as it is too... Psychological. As such, his backup plan is Avatar: The last air bender. Something that is quite light and has a power system that is not too different from this world's power system.
And with that, Igarashi already decided to make two new series.
