Lisa coughed to get the attention of the PDA lovebirds. They turned in her direction and she spoke.
"I think I'll be heading home now, it's getting late," she said in her unusual sweet voice. "Xavier, do you mind dropping me off. My house is pretty far from here," she said with an innocent, sweet smile plastered on her face.
"In case you haven't noticed yet, my dear future husband and I would like to have some alone time. So, find your calling and get out already," Ivy said in a dangerously chilly tone that sent shivers down the spines of others while she possessively wounded her arms around Xavier's, resting her head on his shoulder.
"..."
Xander walked toward Lisa as he leaned in to meet her height and whispered. "You heard, right? 'Alone. time,' he said emphasizing each word he continued, "You know, my offer is still available, you can ALWAYS join me. It won't take anything from you, right?"
Lisa's face flushed red from anger. She was already biting her lower lip silently to stop herself from throwing curses at him.
Xander then walked towards Ivan. "Brother, as you can see, Lisa and I just had a little chat, and guess what. She's joining us," he said out loud to everyone's hearing.
"Oh really!" Ivan exclaimed. "It'll be nice to have extra company," Ivan commented which made Lisa turn redder from anger. "By the way, we can talk about 'countless' things"
"Exactly," Xander commented, nodding his head in agreement.
Lisa regained her composure after a while and that sweet smile was now plastered on her face."Thanks for the offer, but I think I'll just book a cab. I'm sure there's one somewhere around"
"Oh no!" Xander exclaimed as he placed both hands on the side of his face. "Lisa you know that it's almost impossible for you to find a cab here, that too in a time like this. Don't you know what people do to women when they're alone in a time like t..."
"Thanks for your concern Xander, but I can take care of myself," she said with her voice slightly raised with a hint of annoyance in it.
"Oh, no, no, no. What kind of 'friend' will I be if I let you go all by yourself when there's more than enough space to fill the three of us," he said and walked towards Lisa, grabbed her arm, and dragged her towards the car with Ivan following behind.
"They were now before Ivan's BMW as he brought out his keys from his pocket and unlocked the car. Xander slightly pushed Lisa to the backseat and leaned in to whisper, " now this is where you belong... backseat always," he said then stood up, entered the passenger's seat and Ivan drove off.
Meanwhile, Ivy didn't loosen her grip on Xavier's arm as a mischievous smile played on her lips.
Xavier tried to loosen her grip on his arm but she didn't budge. He shook his head slightly and sighed inaudibly.
"You know, you have to get used to this. Because in just six days, we will become one and we have to behave like this most of the time to be a couple of the year, y'know," she said, grinning mischievously from ear to ear.
'Is this lady low-key mentally unstable?' Xavier asked himself inwardly with invisible big question marks floating around his head.
"I'm already getting used to it and I think you should too," she said resting her head on his shoulder while closing her eyes.
"Look, I don't know who you are or what your motives are. They're gone so you can drop the act," Xavier burst out as he looked directly into her eyes with full intensity.
"You must have heard the saying, ' the walls have ears'," she said, then tiptoed to whisper into his ears. "So get used to it... and me. C'mon baby, let's go. It's getting late," she said pulling him towards the parking lot.
'Okay, she has totally lost it,' Xavier thought, allowing himself to be pulled by her. 'You like to play, huh? Okay, I'll show you,' he said inwardly and a seemingly mischievous smile crept to his face.
The moment they approached his car, Xavier suddenly pinned her against the wall opposite the car with her eyes widened. "I've been wondering, why don't we take our 'relationship' to the next level. If you know what I mean," he winked, flashing her a charming smile.
'This woman is definitely going to be the end of me. Who knew she'd be the one to bring out this side of me,' he said to himself inwardly, searching her eyes for something.
"I like the way you think," Ivy said, loosening her right hand from his grip and using her thumb to brush his lips with her eyes fixed on his lips and her left hand still pinned on the wall.
Her eyes were still locked on his lips as she leaned in. They were barely a centimeter apart, she brushed her lips against his up to his ear. He felt the hairs behind his neck standing and he was already reacting to her.
"I love your cologne," she whispered against his ear in a somewhat seductive manner, but there was a hint of mischief in it. 'Something seems familiar about this man, but what?' she thought, withdrawing from him with a perplexed look on her face.
They had the same look in their eyes as time stood still for a moment.
After what seemed like minutes, Xavier regained his composure and cleared his throat to bring her back to the world.
She shook her head as if she had just been snapped out from some sort of hypnotism.
"You look lost... are my eyes that attractive," Xavier asked with a playful smirk on his lips.
"Ha, you wish," she scoffed, " By the way, it's getting late, I don't want to lose my beauty sleep for anything, especially when my marriage will be taking place in 'six days'," she said emphasizing on 'six days'.
Xavier stared at her blankly, then shook his head. He reached out to open the door to the car and entered inside.
"Ahem!" Ivy cleared her throat to get his attention and he glanced at her through the window. "What is it?" he asked.
"Haven't you heard of courtesy, etiquettes, and manners?" she asked when she earned another glance from him. "Don't you know that you're supposed to open the door for a lady as a 'gentleman' and a proper 'husband'?"
Xavier rolled his eyes with his hands on the steering wheel. "Get inside the car," he said in a flat tone but there was a hint of annoyance and chill in it.
"No!" she boldly answered.
