Bad Influence

"Well..." Xander smiled sheepishly, "he and Miss Li..."

" They went on a date?!" Ava exclaimed.

"Xiao Zhan?!" Xander scolded her in a low voice, "keep it down, what if he walks in on us, I wouldn't say it was a date, but still... what if he walks in..."

"What if who walks in?" someone said behind them, they froze on their spots and turned slowly. It was Xavier.

"Speak of the devil," Ava whispered into Xander's ear with the corner of her lips and her gaze fixed on Xavier.

"And it appears," Xander muttered under his breath.

"Date?" Xander asked dangerously, "Who went on a date?"

"..."

"You two have a way of getting ahead of yourselves, don't you?" his gaze flew to Xander, then Ava, and Xander again. 'Why must I always be the first and the last,' Xander thought frustrated.

"Brother!" Ava exclaimed as she stood and ran to him to give him a tight hug. The annoyance he felt towards her suddenly disappeared into thin air and he fondly raked his fingers through her voluminous black hair.

"Brother!" Xander voiced out in a light voice he running towards his brother with his arms spread out wide ready for a hug.

Ava saw it coming and quickly moved from the embrace and Xander immediately replaced her, what followed him next was a death glare, he couldn't see it but he could feel the aura oozing out from his brother and he quickly withdrew and smiled sheepishly at his brother. 'I wasn't even the one who spoke about the date, it was your sister, you cold-hearted, a...'

"Brother," Ava called out like a kid which called Xander from his train of thoughts.

"Yes sweetheart?" he turned to face her.

"Not you, fool," Ava rolled her eyes and Xander scoffed in disbelief and went to sit down at his former spot.

"What is it?" Xavier asked, cupping her face and rose it up for her to meet his gaze.

"It's not fair... you guys went out to have some fun and I stayed back to look after mom. Now I deserve a reward, don't I?"

"Okay, what do you want?"

"I want you guys to stay with me to watch a documentary on the care and maintenance of women"

Both Xavier and Xander coughed frantically unknowingly when they heard what she just said.

"What do you say, brother Muchen, brother Yuhan?"

"I hate documentaries," Xavier spoke up first.

"I hate any program that isn't action or horror," Xander said shortly afterward.

"So you two are turning me down," she said with folded arms.

"No, not that princess. It's getting late. I have to go to the office tomorrow..."

"Brother, that strategy of yours doesn't work on me anymore, so just forget about it or think of something new. We all know that you can skip sleep for two days straight and still be energetic. Sometimes I wonder if you're a vampire, yeesh!" she said and shivered dramatically.

"And you..." she continued, this time facing Xander, "What's your excuse?"

"I'm not a vampire, so my excuse of being tired and having work tomorrow Is valid a..."

"I'm helping you guys and you don't even know, especially you," she faced Xavier, " You're getting married so you have to know the basics such as periods, pregnancy..."

" Okay, that's enough. I've heard enough," Xander cut her off as he placed his palms against his ears.

"And you should settle down bro," she retorted, "now where was I?"

Xander rose his hand and she looked at him with a 'What is it, now?' look.

"What do you mean by periods?"

"Like seriously?" she looked at him with her eyes slightly narrowed and arms folded shaking her head.

"I will answer this question but please don't cut me off again till I'm done talking. Okay, periods are..."

"Okay I'm out," Xavier said and he started walking away. Ava ran after him and held his arm.

"Please, pretty please," she pleaded with the puppy eyes that Xavier couldn't resist.

He sighed deeply and sat down on the luxurious large white couch with Ava still clinging to him like he will escape if she loosened her grip a little bit.

Just then the lady popped up out of nowhere in his head. 'It's just your sister, Xavier, not some crazy, cocky, weird lady,' he scolded himself inwardly. He didn't even realize when a smile crept up to his handsome face.

"Umm... brother, do I remind you of someone... like a... special someone," Ava asked holding in the urge to laugh biting on her lips to suppress the laughter forcing its way out.

"And here I was thinking that you were better than this," Xavier said shaking his head in disappointment, "Stop following Xander, he's a bad influence"

"Hel-lo, I'm still here I'm now," Xander voiced out.

"So?"

"I heard what you said," he continued and Xavier just looked at him waiting for him to go on.

"I'm also her brother. At least she shouldn't be as cold and heartless as you are. I mean... just look at her... she's a lady for crying out loud not some random boy you found on the street that you pick up to train to be just like you"

"So you're saying that I should've trained you? Isn't that what I've been doing all these years? it's just that you're not someone that can be trained," Xavier said with a smile plastered on his face.

Xander gasped at his brother's comeback, "What's that supposed to mean brother? That was really... really harsh and mean"

"Common, you guys," Ava whined.

"Fine, I'll watch it, but what about your winter brother," Xander said using his side-eye to watch Xavier.

Ava turned to face him and mouthed a "please". He sighed and sat down on the couch.

Ava smiled, going forward to pick the remote and turn on the TV, she turned on the program that was downloaded on the TV. It looked like she had planned it.

They watched the documentary for a while and their eyelids were already getting heavy except for Ava's, which was wide with excitement.

Something caught the other two attention on the screen. 'So your wife is on her period and she has serious cramps, breakfast in bed along with some chocolate will do the trick, don't forget to buy enough sanitary towels to...'

Xavier switched off the tv immediately. " It's getting late, go to bed," he said with a hint of discomfort in his tone.

"Just when it was getting interesting," Xander winked at Ava and she scoffed, "What a dirty-minded fellow," she said under her breath as she stood up and came in front of Xavier.

"But bro..." before she could complete her sentence, he walked out of the large sitting room, passed the hallway till he reached the grand marble stepped staircase, he ascended the stairs elegantly at high speed.

"I'm glad I'm not the only one he does that to, " Xander voiced out behind her, starting in the direction he took.

"Yeah, right," Ava rolled her eyes, "I'm going to bed, goodnight," she said before she kissed him on the cheek she was ready to go but halted as someone called after her.

" Not so fast, my dear one," Ava was shocked. She knew that Xander didn't have that voice, and neither did Xavier, so it only means...

She turned around and saw Xander already facing that direction, from her angle she could see that he was also shocked, her eyes then flew to the source of the voice and she stood still, shocked.
