The Interrogation

Mama-Patrick saw the way her son drove in, driving in like someone that was been chased. And when Patrick retired back to his chamber, he said, he wasn't hungry and she thought whom could had possibly annoyed her son, and where he might had gone too since morning.

Normally if Patrick wanted to went out before, he let her knew whom he was going to visit in their village, and sometimes informed her where he was going too, like telling her he was going to see a friend not emphasizing which of his friends he was going to see but he let her knew at least.

Mama-Patrick walked down to Patrick's chamber to saw him and she saw he was pacing up and down like someone in deep turmoil.

When Patrick had returned back to the village of recently, Mama-Patrick noticed her son has been in deep thinking, not even wanting to eat her food and she was becoming gradually worried over what the problem could be.

She wanted to asked her husband but she knew he would definitely dismissed her and told her, "Patrick's man enough to handle his problem," but she couldn't bear to saw her second son looking troubled so much and she wasn't abled to slept in her room either, knowing how restless her son was.

She needed to found out and to discussed with him on whatever that was eating him inside and she approached his chamber door.

Knock knock!

Patrick turned and wondered whom was knocking on his chamber door by that late hour of the night, and he thought probably everyone had retired to sleep, as he had asked his sister to delivered his food to his room, so his mother wouldn't questioned him why he didn't wanted to ate his dinner as he needed some time alone to think on what to do and how to got Tina back, to forgave him and accepted him back.

It pained him that he wasn't there for her when she was pregnant, and he wasn't there for their son either when he spoked his first word.

Patrick was angry, thinking about all these and he moved up and down in his room, kicking off whatever blocked his way, and scattering some of his things in annoyance until he finally broke down in tears.

"What had I done?," Patrick questioned himself, just when he wanted to started crying, he heard the knocking on his chamber door startling him to stood up properly.

"Who is that?" Patrick asked.

"Is me your mother, open the door" Mama-Patrick replied and Patrick quickly wiped off the drop of tear away from his eyes and went to opened up the door and asked, "Mother!, What are you doing here by this time of the night?. Shouldn't you be in your room sleeping by now?."

Mama-Patrick ignored her son and she walked into his room and went to sat down on the opposite chair facing him, while Patrick still stood by the door still staring at his mother, as to what she was looking for in his room by that time of the night.

Mama-Patrick breathed out first and spoked, "Close the door son, and come over here. I want to discuss something with you."

Patrick closed the door, and obeyed his mother, as he walked to sat down across to her, while his mother asked him, "Son, I noticed, you haven't been yourself since you returned. You seemed restless these days. Tell me Patrick what's the problem?. You're my son and I don't pray to lose you."

Patrick sighed heavily hearing what his mother just questioned him and he knew his mother to be a very good and observing woman.

Patrick had known she might suspected his mood if he hadn't asked his sister to brought his dinner inside and he sighed and replied,

"Mom.. Is nothing serious to worry about. You should retire to your room and be sleeping by now."

"No my son, am your mother and I cannot be sleeping comfortably knowing you're these troubled. Look you haven't even eaten your dinner yet and you tell me is nothing serious, Patrick!"

"Mom.." Patrick was quiet.

How would he explained to his mother that, he had forced himself on a girl he loved so much, and how do he tell her that she has a grandson that she hadn't seen or knew of his pregnancy nor birth.

Patrick shook his head and his mother continued, "Talk to me son, a problem shared is a problem half solved."

"No Mom, I don't know where to start from. How do I say it or put it to you, I am ashame of myself" Patrick finally replied, using his two sweating palms to covered up his face.

"Is okay son, talk to me, did you kill anyone?" Mama-Patrick asked worriedly still wondering what could be troubling her son..

"No mom, God forbid such evil, I didn't killed anyone, but I guess I hurt someone a lot mom. A lot of people are hurting because of me" Patrick said, and his mother sighed and shook her head, as she drew more closer to him to comfort him. And she took his both hands into hers and spoked to him.

"Everything will be fine son. Just calm down and take things easy with yourself Okay, I will always be here if you need someone to talk too, okay."

Patrick shook his head and turned his face away from his mother and he stood up and face the wall.

"Mom, am sorry but I don't think she will want to forgive me for what I had done to her."

Mama-Patrick stared to her son confusedly, [Is it a woman that's troubling my son this much, I should had known better it], then she spoked to Patrick.

"Don't tell me you're having issues with your girlfriend and that's why you're looking this worried and refusing to eat my food?."

"No mom, she's not my girlfriend", Patrick gulped, "is just that. She happened to have a child.. for me" , Patrick stammered.

"What, you got someone's daughter pregnant, when, how?, And why're you just telling me now?" Mama-Patrick questioned as she stared to her son in annoyance.

"Mom, I didn't knew she was pregnant for me all these while. It happened long ago and I just happened to see her baby, and he looks so much like me" Patrick explained and his mother gulped in shocked.

"What nonsense are you talking about, since when did all these happened?. When did you got her pregnant Patrick, and how come she didn't told you also about it. How cruel can she be, not wanting to tell you about your child?" Mama-Patrick fumed, but Patrick ignored his mother questioned not wanting to face his mother squarely.

He had obviously said enough. How would his mother looked at him, if she found out the truth of what he did, he didn't wanted to discussed about it again, but his mother wasn't letting him go off easily.

"Patrick answer me am talking to you, why did you suddenly become quiet, who's the girl, and where is my grandchild?."

Patrick didn't wanted to opened up to his mother and his mother had to let him be as she left his chamber and went back to her room.

Mama-Patrick wondered, [What has happened to my son?. Why will he not want to open up to me about the lady?. Why will the lady also not want to tell him about her pregnancy and my grandchild?.Hmph, what's happening?.]

Mama-Patrick shook her head as she went back to her room to retired to her bed and slept, since Papa-Patrick was already fast asleep on the same bed in their room.

The next morning Mama-Patrick couldn't kept calmed anymore, and she called her two daughter out whom were around, her last daughter and senior daughter, likewise her husband, and she brief them what was going on with Patrick.

"Patrick has being behaving strangely since he arrived, did any of you noticed about it?" Mama-Patrick asked them first, as they sat out on a bench in front of their mansion and they replied her "No," and she continued.

"I had to confronted him yesterday and can you belief that Patrick said he has a child outside, without any of our knowledge about it, without any of us knowing."

"What!!" They exclaimed.

"Is possible mom, you know brother is rich and these ladies out there, will want him, to become as his babymama so as to get more money from him and create a bond with him, even though he doesn't want the person," spoked Cindy, Patrick's immediate younger sister.

"I don't belief that Patrick has a babymama. Am telling you he doesn't even know about the pregnancy or the baby, until this moment" Mama-Patrick said and they gasped again.

"What!."

"What are you talking about Mama-Victory, you mean Patrick has a child, out of wedlock?. Is not possible, he must be joking, where is he?" Papa-Patrick asked and he called out "Patrick!, Patrick!. Go and call your brother for me here."
