The morning sun cast a warm glow over the village as Lyan and the former slaves bid farewell to the villagers who had offered them shelter. Aisha, one of the villagers, stood at the edge of the crowd, her eyes fixed on Lyan. As the group prepared to depart, Aisha stepped forward and pressed a small pouch into Lyan's hand.

"I want you to take this with you," she said, her voice soft but insistent.

"It's a charm. My mother used to make them for me when I was a child. She said it would bring good luck and protect me from harm. I want you to have it, for luck and protection. I really hope that you could meet her and father before you leave, but it can't be helped since they don't seem to be returning very soon," Aisha said, her voice soft and sincere.
