That was the last text before my mom called me from my bed to get ready for school. It was weird how close 2 weeks were, but it didn't mean that I would miss him.
"so what do you say, dinner?" Ricky blocked my locker with his muscular body. I was irritated. Ricky was one of the football players who thought it was an honor for him to talk to you.
"you have a better chance with Rosemary, the catholic girl, than Avery Johnson," Cleo chipped in. I could tell she was also irritated with his presence. He has been persistent for the past week; I had even told Liam to tell his teammate to back off.
Ricky wiggled his hands as he talked.
"Why don't you run back to your sweet Liam and leave me so I can talk to Ave."
Oh my God, he was already shortening my name like we were friends. Cleo looked at him up and down, assessing him.
"should have known not to talk to someone with half a bird brain."
She linked my arm and dragged me away. Ricky was still left stunned by what Cleo said:
"stupid dumb jock," she mumbled by the side. I laughed.
"what?"
"that was cliché __not all athletes are stupid dumb jock."
"but he was"
I nodded in agreement.
If only I knew that the stupid dumb jock won't leave me alone. He searched for me in the cafeteria to sit beside me or wait for me by my class to walk me back to my class. It felt like I was in a relationship that I had not been informed about.
I hid beneath the library's stairwell; I needed to deal with him, but I didn't have any dirt on him that would make him stop.
Then a figure appeared in front of me.
I lift my head to see Addison standing in front of me.
"Ricky got the whole school thinking you are missing," Addison said, playing with her hair, curling it with her index finger only to lose it again. She continued this act.
"so, what do you want me to do?"
"seeing you have not done anything to push him away means you don't have dirt on him."
She was dead on.
I fixed my gaze on her.
Her eyes tell me she was aware of something.
"so, if you have information about him, what do you want?"
"Simple. Just delete the video you have of Michael and me."
"Please," she finished.
"How can I be sure you won't mess with Cleo again" she scoffed
"I have learned my lesson with you around. Never mess with Avery Johnson."
I stayed silent, thinking of my next plan.
"Ricky has a collection of anime dolls. He treasures them with his life. His favorite is his Jiraya doll which he always keeps in his locker at the football team locker room."
I looked at her, and I sensed the anxiety on her face. So I took out my phone and deleted the video in front of her.
"thank you__," she said honestly.
"Perhaps you shouldn't let Michael video when you know he'll still show his teammate," I suggested.
I stood up to plot a crime, leaving Addison to chew her fingernails as she pondered my words.
The students packed their books into their bags after hearing the school bell ring on a Thursday afternoon.
And so, while everyone who had no school activities was rushing home, I was sneaking into the football team's locker room. The boys were on the field practicing, and Timmy, the team's manager, always forgot to lock the locker room.
"13"
"13"
"locker 13" I walked around searching Ricky's locker, a piece of information I had gotten from Addison during the early day.
"Locker 13! Yes!" I jumped up and opened the locker. I considered stealing his prized possession. He had asked me out despite my numerous refusals. Does that mean he deserved what I had planned for him?
But I was tired of being bothered.
When I heard the door open, I dashed into the boy's locker room.
It wasn't just one footstep; I heard two more and a familiar voice.
I sneak a peek and see Ricky dripping with sweat and his shirt dangling around his neck.
He sat on the bench while the other two players leaned on their lockers.
"look at you acting all love crazy for that Johnson's girl," his friend chuckled.
"well, I won't be if you and Dean didn't make a bet" he sounded pissed. he takes his shirt off his neck and hits it on the bench
"Hey, don't hate me because she is not spreading her pussy for you," the person I think was Dean replied to him.
"she is so fucking difficult!"
"you are the one that said at the party that you could get her in your bed in under two weeks," his other friend said
"that's because there was a rumor going around that Liam had tapped that ass."
Someone entered the locker room, hitting the door.
"get in the field, boys!__ resting time is over."
"yes, coach," they grumbled.
When they were gone, I destroyed everything I could find in Ricky's locker. From tearing his jacket to his textbook to soaking everything in the locker, I rained a bit of hell in his locker afterward; I took the figurine.
I was still angry. I walked back home, wondering what I would do with the figurine, when Ricky had slowed down his car as soon as he saw me.
"Hey"
"Hey"
"Hey," I ignored him for the third time, but he stopped instead of driving past me.
"don't you want to hitch a ride in my car" the sentence he made caused me to stop? I laughed. He looked at me, confused.
I took out the figurine from my bag.
"Isn't that my ?"
He opened his mouth to speak but was too shocked as I ripped the head, hands, and legs apart until the entire body was gone.
I began throwing each component at him one by one.
"Next time, bet on the right bitch rather than the psycho one."
I observe him opening his door and attempting to reassemble the pieces of his doll.
He did appear heartbroken; I almost felt sorry for him.
