A deal with the devil

"Are we talking via telepathy?!"

Alissa became a bit excited after the small discovery of hers, and because of her excitement, she had almost forgotten how dangerous and evil the supernatural woman really is. Her excitement is reasonable however, because it was the first time for her to hear someone talking to her in the same way her lover did. The way of talking that is basically similar to telepathy, which is talking without a real source of voice, but with a mental connection that tries to communicate with another instead.

This form of telepathy is kind of particular. It's the normal way for ghosts to speak because they're basically just remnants of consciousness, but a telepathic way for humans and whatever intelligent creature to speak.

Most of the humans that Alissa had met for example, they couldn't speak with their minds, however, they could hear the words that Alissa said to them. That's why, it came off as a surprise to Alissa when she had heard how the supernatural woman was capable of telepathic speech. Her using telepathic speech meant only one thing, which is that she is similar to Alissa, and that she might know various more mysteries and answers about the supernatural.

Realizing that the woman might know the answers to her questions, Alissa's bits of excitement quickly turned into a surge of excitement. She was no longer concerned about the fact that the woman was someone dangerous and bad, and showed signs of curiosity and excitement instead. Luckily, her excitement didn't overwhelm her too much. She was still able to control herself from setting the woman free at an instant, and was able to communicate with her in a rational order.

"That guy earlier. You've mentioned that he has two souls. Can you remove the souls from each other? One is my lover, who disappeared into his body after trying to help him. Now he's only within that body as a fade of distant memories…" Alissa revealed her desperation, but in a slight rational way, so the woman would not try to make her a fool.

"Oh~ But why would you want to split two lucky souls that have managed to merge together? Here's a better offer. Why don't I let your lover be the one in control of the body? He'll have a vessel, will be far more powerful than a mortal human, and will be able to communicate with you. Better yet, I can also make you a vessel." The vile woman offered.

"That seems too good to be true. What are you scheming?" Alissa was starting to get quite suspicious of the woman.

"Scheming? Haha! I'm telling you the truth… But of course, you are correct about one thing, and that is that it is too good to be true. Indeed, it is too good, that's why, I require your soul as a commendation, along with his. Don't worry. I won't consume you or anything. You'll just have to serve me. Not even serve, because you'll be like a civilian of a country. Simply said, I'll be the queen, and you'll be a part of the folk that is restricted and bound to one queen." The woman explained.

"I see… Isn't there any less harsh conditions though? I mean… Without me, you'll remain buried like you are right now…"

Although the offer from the supernatural woman didn't seem too bad from a greater perspective, Alissa wanted better benefits, simply because she felt the woman to be too untrustworthy. Knowing that the woman is untrustworthy, Alissa knew that she had to leech for greater benefits. Alissa was willing to accept the woman's offer of course, and wouldn't even reject such an offer at all, because the offer of the woman greatly concerns the probability of her lover coming back to her.

'I'm willing to sell my soul to the devil for you Evan. But, of course, I'm not going to sell my soul dirt cheap.' Alissa sure had the thoughts of a trader…

"No. You're basically asking me to revive a soul, and to have that soul as a main soul for a body. Your request is only fulfillable by gods perhaps. Lucky you, I am somewhat of a god. A demonic god to be exact. One that is weakened, which is why I need an army of followers again, so I can regain my powers. Now get me out of this dirty place already!"

"Oh-okay." Alissa voice cracked a little, because she got scared by the sudden loud words of the woman.

That said, she flew away quickly in search for a nearby animal to possess. An animal, which she needed its body for to dig a hole. Her telekinetic ability isn't strong enough to lift a bunch of soil and branches, after all. Most it can do, is launch a bottle. That's why she needed to find a nearby body to possess. Because without a physical body, she could barely do anything physical…

For sure, the life of a ghost is not too pleasant…
