With the Light's creation, the Darkness was born.
They were the perfect opposites: Light had the power to create life and innocence, and so the Darkness had the power of death and destruction.
Her —the Light— was happy in her own Realm, plagued by little souls and magic.
He —the Darkness— was alone in his own, and he was fine with it.
Until the very first moment they both met.
At that exact moment, Darkness fell deeply in love with Light. So he persuaded her to teach him how to create life. In exchange, he would give her the power of causing chaos. The Light accepted the offer, letting the Darkness know her intentions: she wanted a Realm where she could create life and live among them. And, obviously, Darkness accepted the condition.
Both Light and Darkness were living their own dreams, and the forgot the Void's existence.
They thought that having the Void imprisoned would give them rest, and nothing to worry about.
Sooner or later both would have to deal with the Void's imprisonment, but now they only were conscious of themselves and their treat.
As the days passed away, Light and Darkness were more and more closer, more comfortable one in front of the other. And then, the Darkness tried to see the Light's manifestation of her soul.
She was glad to let him see herself, as her troubles were disappearing with the wind.
She revealed her true form to her brother: pale skin like the snow, long, straight white almost silver hair, purple eyes and smaller pink lips. The Darkness was sure to make her a promise: he wouldn't let her die. He would love her before anything else, although he didn't tell her that.
Instead, he revealed himself: pale skin, long black hair and black eyes. They both had no clothes, as if they didn't need it. And in fact, on their pure forms, they didn't. So they both looked at each other for minutes, until Light said a name: Az'rune.
Darkness looked at his sister doubtfully. He repeated the name, and a smile appeared on Light's face. He tried to hug her, and he whispered a name into her ear: Astreia. Her name was also chosen.
As the years passed, Astreia was gladly happy and thankful for having Az'rune, and the same on the other side: Az'rune was thankful for having her.
They were focused on their task, and the responsibilities it had. Creating a world where creatures could live was not easy for them.
Adding the impossible to dismiss fact that your sister —the Void— is imprisoned in her Realm and can escape in a few minutes.
Ignoring everything else, Az'rune gave Astreia an amethyst ring, declaring his intentions to love her.
He decided he would finally do it, because he couldn't ignore the imprisonment. And, to be honest, the truth was that the vengeful Void would try to kill his love.
The Darkness enchanted the ring, so any damage caused to her would be redirected to him.
At least one of them would be safe if the Void's imprisonment fails.
He didn't mind waiting for so long to declare his love to his sister, because he know that his love would be corresponded by the Light.
That day, the first of many ones they would share as a couple, a love promise was made.
They oathed at each other to live together, for the rest of their inmortal lives.
