I Remember

His arms dropped, silently swinging through the wind, their soft and pale texture reflecting the bright neon fires. His long hair loose, the strands of red tipped hair flushing over his yellow eyes, cascading like a bloodied waterfall. The deep brown criss-crossing in unkempt strands. Its sheen pulled over his nose, slightly covering his eyes, the bars of hair blocking his eyes, and funnelling the tears. He dropped to his knees, the sword clattering to the floor. The desert sand covered his hands as he pushed against the floor, his body tensing as if he expected to be pulled down. His gleaming yellow eyes flooded with tears.

"I failed." his fingers scrunching into the golden sand, his lips quivering and failing as his face creased and contorted in agony. And then, the soft lips opened. A distant voice calling through the field of corpses. Even though the limp body was right before him… The pain drove Mahon further and further away. His mind curses his eyes for vision, and his heart for life.

The tears poured down his face, dripping onto Gilgamesh's frail body.

"Ah, I see… I was able to save one person, Although I suppose that's not much of an achievement… Unkillable, I can never make up y mind if I envy you, heh well it is only natural to seek immortality in death. I am so happy I leave one man alive, to know of me, and my kingdom.

Mahon, please do not cry, I am but one stop on a journey. You will carry thousands with you… as long as you live I will never be truly dead, so live my unkillable warrior, Your… Life… Belongs to…"

His body fell downwards, blood spilling over his lips, and dripping to the ground. In the silent moment, the minute of pain and anguish that pressed through Mahon's body. He stood, the dark hair covering his face.

His arms hung by his side as he trudged through the sand and out of the crater, his body moved like it was possessed.

Before him stood hundreds, thousands of monsters, their bodies looming over him like mountains.

The biggest one lowered to stare at Mahon, his plain blank stare sending shivers down the monster's spine.

The monster, feeling somewhat scared, screamed. His mouth echoing through the mountain, its bleached flesh covered in eyes.

"Be silent."

With two words everything stopped, the screeches held in place, the monster staggered back, his body flinging towards Mahon, its arms slapping at the human.

"Disappear."

The words rung through the deafening silence, ringing across the monsters. Their flesh bubbling and exploding, blood splattering across the field. The monsters that had once towered, reduced to nothingness.

Mahon stepped forward, his shoes waterlogged with blood, the silence ringing through his ears in a miserable melody.

"I remember, I won't for long, but I remember. The silence, My father, you have not forsaken me, however… I may never forgive you for the death incurred here."

Mahon reached the rift, his hand pressing against the portal, its immense pressure crushing his body, cuts and slashes appearing all over his body,

"Close."

His hand exploded, blood spraying over his face, joining the rest of his soaked clothes. He switched hands, the numb pain carving through him.

"CLOSE!"

The rift shrunk, lacerating his hand, and cutting his eye open.

"Close."

The air was only partially splintered, only a sliver left of the huge hole. Mahon's vital organs had exploded, his legs were barely able to hold his body, the compacted pressure forcing its way out of the portal. Pulling away Mahon's shirt, the wind whipping up dust and slicing through his cuts, the pain was prodigious.

"Be gone."

In an instant, Mahon's body was sliced in two, the rift closing entirely. Leaving Mahon… Alone in the sand, his body eviscerated, his soul shattered,

He closed his eyes. And all went black.
