Lost

He picked his sword over his head the blade glinting in the sunlight, only the tip exposed to the golden light under the shade of the fort walls the demonic smile creeping across his face, the pointed edges curling up his white teeth almost devouring his face, the small herald looked up at him terror striking through his face. But as the sword dipped, so too did his smile, the blind malice he had felt drifted away.

"Go… "

His quiet voice dredged with despair echoed across the mass of bloodshed, the cries and screams filling the battlefield. The massacre was silent to Mahon.

"Thank you, thank you." the herald dropped to the floor on his knees.

"Leave before I change my mind," the man scurried away and Mahon just sat down, his body flopping against the hastily constructed wall and his legs soaking into the grass. Pulling his hands to his face, he dropped his head to stare at the ground in between the gaps in his fingers.

"What am I doing here?

What am I doing anywhere? This world is so full of death, why would I even try to save it? Why do I keep killing when all it brings is pain and suffering, is it because of what he said… have I just blindly been following the orders of the first person I met… Adora, were you right? Am I just meant to kill? My lord have I been serving you, I am lost, I don't know what to feel any more, without you all, without Cel what am I? Am I even human any more… of course not, I don't belong… Anywhere, without her, I don't even belong on the battlefield."

"Haha, get up. You look so pathetic like this."

The familiar voice struck through Mahon's chest like a dagger, his eyes opening wide and staring up at the shining brown hair, strands falling down as she bent over her dazzling eyes flooding through his mind. He looked around at the sprays of blood, all of it stopped in place.

"Cel?"

"Of course, I knew you wouldn't die."

"I… missed you."

"Naturally,"

"How unsightly, a subject of mine sitting whilst others fight? How far my rule has fallen."

Gilgamesh stood behind her, his flowing golden hair outshining the sun, the beach was flooded with dozens of people, the huge frame of Igigi, the silent stare of adora, each flashing before him.

"How?"

"My love, you cannot lose yourself, even if we are not here we will always be with you, as long as you love we will all be here." and then the world went dark… Mahon's hands grasping at the air where she once stood,

"You really have fallen,"

Before him in the darkness was a huge figure, his body stretching farm below him and far above, his form lit by three huge wings each one leading up his torso, this long hair flowing down his back and meeting the wings across his clean white robes, the edges of each embroidered with a glistening gold. His handsome face stared down at him, the blonde hair complementing perfectly his tanned skin and following the imperial golden figure.

"Were they real?"

"Of course,"

"How?"

"It is more as if I put their souls into light to display them to you,"

"So… I can see them again?"

"Our father said so."

"And then… who are you?"

"I am you."

"What?"

"More accurately I am the you before I was sealed, I am Seraphiel, the arch angel of silence, king of mercury and one of the eight judges of heaven, greatest of all angels, at least I should've been, however I was bested by some human."

"And that human is the one who made me like this?"

"Yes… he is also the one who sent the wraiths to this world in an attempt to take it over."

"Why?"

"Well, after being soaked in Mana for millennia, he could possibly pose a challenge to god, however in the reality he resides in now our god is not present, so he cannot fight him."

"Fucking humans, always fighting"

The angel chuckled, his giant body moving closer to Mahon, his face bright and emanated beauty and royalty."

"Thank you… for letting me see her one more time,"

"You want to know what you need to do next? To see her?"

"Of course,"

"You must kill Belamere,"

"But… you said he could kill god,"

"And so could I, given my full power and his combined power, so you will need to fight each monster he sends and through that learn to control silence, then maybe you and I can become one again, and we can beat him."

"Teach me then."

"I wish I could, but all angels are born with their powers, so you will need to find someone to teach you how to manipulate Mana, there are a few thousand in this world I believe. The man I left you with, for example. From now on you must master all techniques and become an angel worthy of the title Seraphiel, then you can rest and see them all again"
