Belamere (1)

approximately 20,000 years before, Belamere was born. 9 years later the most powerful magic ever to be seen by man was released, six hours later his world burned. this is the story of a God, a being who managed to receive the blood of god and the powers of an angel. The most powerful human to have ever existed, the story of why he tried to murder the god who gave him life.

The two huddled around the dead plant, its brown withered stem twisted into the ground, its once vibrant colours scattered around on the yellowing grass. The first child was a boy, his shorts stretching no further than his knees and matching his midnight black hair, his eyes sparkling like jet the deepest obsidian ringing across his monochrome pupils. The second was smaller, younger. Her hair touching the ground when they sat close to the flowers like this,

"Too bad it died, it had such nice petals." the girl spoke, her words were surprisingly composed for a child, staring down at the trampled flower bed before her, her blue eyes fixed on the greying plant.

"I can get it back,"

"Once something is dead it is dead, don't be stupid."

"Wanna bet?"

"Fine, I bet you my food tonight you can't."

"Agreed, I'm a growing boy after all."

The boy stuck out his hands, a cooling light drifting over the flower, like the sun had spawned in his hands, a raging ball of light that spun across the flower, its stalk regaining its colour, the petals flying back to the head. Its vibrant colour blooms from the lifeless parts of the plant.

"Of course you have magic. Everyone does these days."

"More stew for me."

"Dumbass, fine."

"You could make a fortune with that ability, why did my dad have to be a magicless?"

"Well you can always live off me,"

"I won't, I will become a knight."

"A knight? Why would you want that?"

"Living like this, just staring into space and waiting for them to come, looking at every mountain and wondering when it will wake up, I can't bear it, I would rather die fighting than die waiting."

"Then I shall become a king and you my knight."

"Please, you would be better suited to a princess, you cant even kill an ant, how could you command an army?" the girl flicked the boy's head, his body falling back as she stood up.

"We'll eat soon,"

"You will eat, I will plot your death."

The two walked home, the night descending over the giant walls, the sun flickered for a second, its uneven glare silenced by a black dot that made the boy linger,

"Belamere, hurry up or I'm reclaiming my food."
