Sapphires pov

Its a new day and my first day at work too. I spoke with Lissa earlier, but as usual she always wants a full detail of what happened between i and Erick.

Lissa went crazy when i told her about all that happened, and i know she'd want me to spend the whole day explaining every single detail..

But inside of me, would really love to see Erick again, i could feel it, deep down.

I cant really place what i feel for Erick, i can't say its love yet, but i know i feel attracted to him, and when I'm with him i'm always comfortable around him.

Erick always had a way of bringing out the inside of me that's always hidden, he always made me free with him.

Another day and i think about Erick. 'Its best i snap out of this', I tell myself.

I quickly dress up, its my first day of work, and i think the first impression always matters.

Dad used to tell me that.

I'm not really the girly type kind of girl, well i know i like to dress up and makeup, when its necessary and i also like to good at all times, but in my own kind of way, in a more unique and stylish way.

I'd wear gowns when the need calls for it, but only when the need calls for it, or only when its necessary, like on a date or an event. But my regular and casual outfits are trousers, hoodies, big shirts, loose outfits, sweat pants, and sneakers.

I know I'm not weird but its my type of personality, everyone has theirs.

I'm dressed up and ready to go, Loren had an early lecture today, and that is pretty much why we didn't argue, or change each others moods, which is a relief for me.I think my outfits made out for me, I'll just be who i am, my true self.

I had breakfast at a cafeteria nearby the school, and took a taxi.

The drive was fast, and i got in the pastry shop pretty fast.

I headed to see Mrs Sarah, so she'd know i was here and spotted her at the counter talking to the employee.

"Hi, Mrs Sarah" i said

"My dear, so glad your here its such a relief you've given to me" she said in a stressed tone, which made me worry.

"Why mam, is there an issue?"

"Yes dear, actually Jack, the guy that takes the deliveries, is home sick, and wouldn't be able to make it today, and i have a very big event I'm to deliver some pastries too, there's the cake, the cookies, the small chops, its a whole lot." She said looking so worried.

"Wow, mam that's a very big problem"

"Of course dear, it is, but i have a solution, and its standing right in front of me"

"Really?" I asked

"Yeah, Sapph, you are going to fill in for Jack today, i know your regular work here is going to be to take the orders, but for the first week you'd do the delivery, since Jack's not available, i know you can handle it dear, i trust you"

"Of course mam, I'll do it"

"Great, ask Peter the one over there at the counter, to give you the address and the shops car for your drive to the place you'd deliver the pastries to."

"Ok mam"

I headed to Peter, who gave me the address and everything i needed for the delivery.

Its a good thing i knew how to drive, Bruce taught me how to, when i was working for him.

I headed to the direction i was given, and landed at a very huge house, its a mansion, because its very huge, and beautiful.

It looked like an event was going on and it was a very classy, and lavish one.

I kept on looking at the house in awe, until a man called out my attention, and i think he's an employee in the household, maybe the supervisor.

"Are you the one sent for the delivery from crumbe and flakes pastry shop?"

"Yeah i am and i have the delivery right here" I said to him

"Well that's good, i was starting to think you guys wont show up, head towards, by the back, and go straight you'd see the kitchen and you'd leave it there the head staff in the kitchen will pay you"

"Ok sir"

I took all the pastries and headed to the kitchen, the house was really big, and very busy as well, with the workers, and staffs all walking around with serious faces, everyone was so busy.

I dropped off the pastries at the kitchen table, and spoke with head chef, who paid me, the actual amount Mrs Sarah said they would.

The house was very luxurious but beautiful at the same time, i decided to walk around for a while and see what the event was all about, i headed to the hallway and it looked like people headed upstairs for the event.

I headed upstairs, and there was so much people, but all dressed up in expensive gowns and jewellery, and classic suits and wrist watches, the event really looked expensive.

I stood by a corner to watch what was going on, and i saw the crowd give an applause while a well dressed, young man came on stage to give a speech.

He looked very familiar, like i knew him, he had curly hair, blue eyes, i was shocked to realise it was Erick. It was him, i just stood looking at him, and i don't know how but he saw me, and when our eyes met it was like i couldn't move, but he realised himself in time, and gave his speech.

He looked so rich, and very well dressed, i kind of felt a little bit shallow, but i stood to hear his speech.

Good day Ladies and Gentlemen, its an honour to have all of you gathered here today, we all know that today marks the 50th anniversary of Rolex corporation and also a new partnership with a prestigious company Wellings corporation, we look so forward to having many more years of great partnership together, we are currently working on projects to improve the digital market , and make it better to have a stable and accessible larger network, for the benefit of everyone and to have a satisfactory experience with our company. He ended and everyone applauded, while a well dressed and mature lady came over to congratulate him, it looked like she was his mom, and his dad came along to, with a classy and refined young lady, but he paid no attention to her.

He looked up to my direction and headed to me, i was so surprised but i just kept my cool.

"Sapph, its good to see you but what are you doing here?" He asked

"Well, i was working, and delivered some pastries to this home, but i didnt know it was yours"

A well dressed and classy lady which may be Ericks mom cuts in.

"Erick, who is she?" She asks.

"Mom, this is Sapph, she's a friend of mine"

"Oh and judging by the looks, dear you don't look quite dressed up for this event"

"I was working mam, i didn't plan on coming here" I told her

"Working?"

"Yea mam, i just delivered some pastries"

"Oh you work at crumble and flakes"

"Yeah i do"

"Son how did you meet her?"

"Oh Mom, that's a very complicated story"

"Well, good to have you dear, but my son is currently busy right now, he has a lot of important guests to attend to, and i think its best you get going, except you want me to give a complaint at your place of work"

"That wont be necessary Mam, i'll get going"

Erick was annoyed by the way his mom treated me and was about speaking up until, a younger lady headed towards us and gave Erick a kiss.

"Hey Love, congratulations on your speech, you were great"

I was so shocked in what i saw, thoughts ran through my mind as i excused myself, and walked out.

It looked like Erick, came after me ignoring the call of his mom and his girlfriend, i suppose.

"Sapph, hold on just wait a second"

"Leave me alone Erick, now is not a good time"

He held my shoulder and i knocked his hands off

He was surprised and tried to explain himself.

"Sapph, i know you saw her kiss me, but its not what you think"

"Really, do you mind explaining what she meant by hey love with a kiss"

"She's always like that, I've told her how much I'm not interested in her" He said.

"Wow, so she just comes around kissing you, if that's how she's like and you don't put a stop to it, you know all this while i kept on thinking what was really going on between the two of us and honestly, Erick its high time i let you know that you may be rich, classy and fancy but don't play with my feelings, i'm not the kind of girl you might be thinking i am, neither am i easy going"

"Sapph, i'd never play with your feelings"

"Well, thank you Erick for the very fact that you helped save my life, that i'd be grateful to you for, but otherwise do not downcast me or look down on me, its just best i leave"

I headed towards the driveway where i parked the car. But Erick called out to me saying the words that kept on ringing a bell in my head and let all my emotions run wild.

"Sapph, i would never play with your feelings, or do anything wrong to you because i love you"

I turned to look at Erick, standing so surprised by what he just said.

"I love you, Sapph, it only took just a matter of time, to gather out my feelings and realise that i do, i know your surprised and might not be expecting me to say this but..

Sapphire Tiffens i love you!, i fucking love you!"
