Chapter 90: Snowfall

The snow spread around everywhere like a blanket covering the brown earth. It was a beautiful sight, but it also made getting around difficult. They had to be careful not to slip on the ice and hurt themselves having been unused to the texture.

The dark trees that spread their branches over the snow looked beautiful against the white backdrop, but they didn't provide much shelter from the cold wind that was blowing through the valley. The sky above looked like a reflection of the ground below as it was plainly painted in a pale blue color with clouds spreading in sight.

For miles and miles, there was nothing to be seen other than snow and ice in every direction, except for the occasional glimpse of an animal in the distance, which served only as a reminder of how cold and isolated they had been and how far they must have been from civilization yet again.
