Another Apology

Jacob exhaled heavily, a bit disconcerted on what to say or do. He had messed up again, and even though this time it wasn't really his fault, he still couldn't help but blame himself. He shouldn't have locked his mind from her. He thought, unable to take his eyes away from her.

After he had left to feed, he hadn't found a human lying around, and not wanting to touch the couple which Dedari had last fed on, he had moved to feed on an animal. The taste hadn't been great, but it was blood and besides he didn't hunger for blood as they did. He was just okay, or he thought he was until the thought of the girl, Olivera, had crossed his mind again.
