He then looked away and saw the Water Avatar's anxious face. The Water Avatar was in a female body that was quite mischievous, but at this moment she looked rather distraught.
Liam started to write in the letters of water. Forming simple words.
This is not the danger, evolution, or development of the world.
Then he pointed at himself.
I have to leave, I'll come back soon.
He saw the Water Avatar relax visibly, her mischievous smile returned slowly. Words formed in the water.
Why must you leave?
Danger will come if I don't.
The Water Avatar understood his plight.
Only, it wasn't a plight to him at all, he was glad to have found an adventure, he only wished he wouldn't stay on it alone, or it might be something he'd start to hate.
Liam turned his attention back to the Seed.
The Seed had formed a question for him. Liam pondered over it for a while before he started to answer, but it had gotten stuck in his throat as he tried it.
He was puzzled for a moment before he understood that it was made with the energy the seed carried. He tried to form the meaning of what he wanted to convey with the energy he had but failed as well. He stopped trying to form the word and pondered why he couldn't form it.
His understanding of the energy was just too shallow. That was what he come up with.
A moment later he brightened up and looked at the seed and the energy around it.
Maybe I can borrow its energy to convey my answer.
He reaches out his hand to feel the energy around the seed.
The seed reacted by increasing the distance between it and Liam. It acted on some sort of instinct. After a moment it saw that Liam had no intention to touch it yet. So it came back to its previous position.
Liam on the other hand just concentrated on feeling the energy from the seed. Once he felt an inkling of understanding, he started to form his intentions to the seed.
The Water Avatar was watching it all and recorded it into her memory, so she could tell the others. After all, she liked to gossip.
The same sort of energy started to take shape in front of Liam. His eyes were closed and he didn't see it, but he could feel it. His own intentions inside a word he was creating. It wasn't just one word, it included many but it only formed one symbol that was radiating his intentions.
The symbol was glowing with the same light as the Seed. As time passed, it grew in size and the intensity of its glow only brightened.
The water Avatar just looked as the dark seabed brightened and suddenly it was snuffed out.
She then realized that Liam, the only human that could see and communicate with all the Avatars was gone.
The seabed suddenly rumbled and something started to take form.
* * *
The town, that Liam just left behind.
Three women arrived. All of them were unmatched beauties.
Their skin was clear as porcelain and their hair white as snow. Two of them had light purple eyes and one had a brilliant light shade of blue. They were dressed as if they had just left some rich snobs' banquet, leaving them crying tears of blood.
One of them was holding a note. The other two were following her. The one leading them was older and had a determined look on her face.
She must see her son.
In fact, Kayden had betrayed his little brother earlier than Liam allowed him, but it was to be expected. Once he met his sister, she knew that something was up. Kaytlin had pestered her twin brother so much that he didn't even care anymore if the secret was leaked.
And at the moment of his confession, his mother and her niece had appeared silently behind him.
That niece was someone who worshiped the ground Liam walked on. Her big brother. She didn't have any siblings and Liam was just perfect for the job.
But what now, what was Kayden talking about.
Liam had found his destiny and was leaving. To where? and how?
None of them knew anything else.
Their father and younger brothers were still ignorant of it.
The women marched briskly toward the beach on the coast where Liam had left his possessions.
The people stared at them with their mouths open. They had never seen such a sight. The women were so beautiful that they felt like duck chicks in the presence of swans.
They arrived when the sun was already up. They thought that they could make it and see their beloved son, and brother before he left but they were late. They didn't know that, but they were still hopeful that it might be possible. Just that, might be was what was keeping them going or they'd just fall down to the ground and wail to their hearts' content.
At the moment they were still hopeful.
Their hearts sank the moment they didn't see him under the tree. Still, they approached the tree to at least find his things. They removed the branch and dug out the things that Liam had left for them. It was all put into a ziplock bag.
They could see a fountain pen, a letter, a container with his blood, and some things he had made himself. Some gifts he had prepared for them when he was to return home, but things don't always go as planned.
"Ahh... he left a Life Compass behind!" the mother exclaimed. Kaytlin looked over.
"You're right, activate it quickly," she urged her mother into action. For a moment she was hesitant. There must have been a reason why he didn't want to see them... After a moment of delay, she poured in her power, her essence into it.
The Life Compass started to hum on top of her hand and floated in the air, a centimeter above her hand. It then started to slowly shift. It turned only a little, pointing to the sea in front of them.
