"Aren't you going to escape?" the snake looking at the two-legged creature asked. He somehow already knew the answer.
"Nope," he denied that claim, "Can you drip some of that poison in your teeth to that rock over there?" he asked without any hesitation, he didn't explain anything either.
It seemed that the awkwardness and blushing would be a thing of the past from now on.
"Why?" the snake was curious even in this kind of situation. The two-legged creature's mouth suddenly twitched upward, showing a few teeth. 'Is this a good expression?' the snake thought.
"You can't retreat, right?" the two-legged creature in front of him said. His eyes turned colder.
"No," the snake didn't elaborate on that.
"Then it is settled, I'm going to annoy them while you fight them," he stated and ran off, plunging his knife-tooth in the side of the loose skin and running along with it, tearing it as much as possible.
'A strange one,' the snake thought then and started to wiggle his body free from the last twenty meters of the already torn skin. He was thankful for the two-legged creature or he would still be in the middle of the shedding process when his enemy arrived. But now he would be finished by the time the three opponents would arrive.
Liam on the other hand was running and looking for places to hide and the plants around him. He was looking for something, but he couldn't quite remember what it might look like. At some point, he started to break the stems to see if any of the plants around had what he wanted.
So far, he hadn't found the right one. He snapped all the plant stems he came into contact with and finally he found one. There was a whole bush of it. It was also weaker than the other plants around. It somehow put him on his guard. Can the plant be poisonous? He didn't care, simply because he didn't have the free time for it. The three beasts were now very close. The tremors were getting stronger.
The snake managed to get the last piece of his body free when he spotted the three running in his direction. He then remembered the two-legged creature's strange request with his poison. He looked in the direction of the rock he had pointed out before, it strangely looked a little hollow, like a bowl. He hastily went closer and let a few drops of his poison fall into the basin-like rock.
He then turned to his opponents as if to welcome them to a party. It then hissed and charged at the three large creatures. He was surprised to see them together. It was just that these three shouldn't be here or even together. They had their own territories. Why would three massive ones who could lead their species be together and target him? He was wondering that but had to think of the fight ahead. It wouldn't be easy.
After Liam had managed to find the right plant, he had to test it. He took a few stems with him and went back to where he had come from, only to see the snake rushing off toward something he couldn't yet see. He then broke a tiny piece from the stem and chucked it inside the tiny pool of poisonous liquid. He was satisfied with the result, after all the tiny piece didn't disintegrate right away but it happened slowly. But now he needed something else.
The snake will have to fight alone at first. He wasn't worried, the snake had been living alone all that time and had to have been in these kinds of situations before, right?
He couldn't be more wrong, something like this hasn't ever happened before.
Either way, Liam was somehow very confident in the snake's ability to fight. In that case, he wasn't wrong.
What Liam was looking for this time was something rather simple, a Y-shaped branch. He didn't think that he could find something as springy as the rubber band of his pants so he also looked for a vine that could hold up his pants while he used the rubber band.
He was making a slingshot just because he thought that he couldn't hold the poisonous pullets, he was going to make, for too long. After all, he had to actually stay beside the pool and shoot from near there. The plant stem he had found would disintegrate slowly but still faster than he would like.
After finally assembling the slingshot, he took a few pieces of the stem to see how far it would fly. The weird thing about the plant stem was that it was incredibly heavy while it broke really easily. So, when he tried to shoot the stem, it flew farther than he thought. Which also gave him a distance in mind. He carefully took some poison from the pool and closed it inside the stem, with another piece of the stem, or leaf of that plant. He tried shooting it and seeing how far it would go. After a while he was ready.
"Hey, can you bring them in my direction?" he shouted not knowing if the snake would hear him as their battle was rather loud. Trees were being broken, and every tail hit made a loud sound, vibrating the air around. He wasn't immune to any of it and it was hard for him to withstand the pressure coming from them, but he made himself do it. It could also be considered training and to face such large creatures would definitely help him in the future when he had to do it by himself.
"Why? You'll die, why would you involve yourself in my battle?" an answer come, but the fight still continued. Liam noticed that the snake was slowly but surely pushing or pulling the battle in his direction. A simple and very straightforward answer comes out of his mouth.
"To get stronger," Liam said without any hesitation. He knew how weak he was now, especially compared to the snake or the beasts he was fighting with.
Liam then filled a few of those stems with poison and basically corked them shut. He stuffed them inside a large leaf he had made a bag from. After doing that he climbed the nearby tree. After all, he couldn't go far as he needed to fill his stock from time to time.
The beasts were already close to Liam's location. He then started to take aim at the beast. Half an hour and two trips later he figured that shooting the beast's bodies with those bullets was rather useless unless he could aim for an open wound or an eye.
After three hours in the dark forest, he basically practiced his aim until he finally scored a hit on one of the beast's eyes. He observed the beast's behavior and confirmed that it was affected by the poison. He was rather ecstatic about it.
"Hey, the one closest to me is affected by your poison, I got a hit on its eye," Liam shouted from his location. He wasn't hiding, he had discovered that the beasts were avoiding the poison pool all by themselves. Closest they would come to it was about ten meters. After that, they'd find a way to escape.
"Nice!!! By the way, my name is not Hey," he said with joy but then changed his tune with the last comment.
"What is your name then?" Liam asked in response.
"Nio."
"Nice to meet you Nio, I'm Liam."
