Searching for a way out

Liam wasn't against helping them. He just thought that the woman should suffer a little. It was natural for him as he felt one should suffer a little because suffering makes a person grow.

The last time he had seen her was when he first saw her in that Inn across the room. He had known the moment she entered the hall. He knew she was special, but he wasn't sure what made her special.

After meeting and examining Yong-Sun, did he understand what she may be and what would be so interesting about her?

Right now, there was a problem, though. He was stuck in his own consciousness, and he wasn't getting out until his core recovered enough energy.

Suppose he waited like he was supposed to, then it would take just a bit over two days to recover. That was the problem. He felt it necessary to wake up sooner.

At first, he thought it shouldn't be a problem, but soon Pollen made sure he understood why he shouldn't let the natural-born core owners die.

"There are only five natural-born core owners in this world. The world energy is too thin to birth more of them. Making every natural-born core owner an exceptional existence. Those able to make cores are talented but not as much as those with a natural-born core."

"I understand," Liam nodded thoughtfully, "Any idea how I could get out sooner than my natural recovery?"

"I don't, but she might have some ideas," he pointed at the other large black fluff ball. "She is probably the only other creature here who could teach you about this," he waved his hands to indicate the world or his consciousness around them.

"Irma, was it?" Liam turned to her, "I need to wake up sooner or warn the people around me. How can I do that?"

"Well… the easiest way would be to send her out, but there seems to be a problem," she was hesitant in speaking as she pointed at her daughter.

"What problem?"

"Your defense barriers are up, and you don't seem to be the one controlling them at the moment,"

"Huh? What? Shouldn't they be under my control if they are my barriers, right?"

"Not necessarily. You are not exactly a normal human being," Pollen interjected, pointing out the obvious.

Liam grabbed his head and started to pull his hair in frustration, and the realm around them responded in kind. The sky began to rumble in the distance.

He sighed.

"Tell me, how should I start taking control of my mental defense systems?" He had sat down in front of the larger Black Menace and waited.

Liam found that Haru had also come closer and made herself comfortable behind him. Liam saw the other Black Menace frown at the scene but didn't do or say anything.

Irma didn't understand the situation, but she was resolute in finding that out. But that was for a later date. Something was warning her. Her gut feeling was telling her that there were real disturbing things happening near her daughter.

Right now, she also needed a way out of this consciousness, and the way to it was to make the boy understand as much as possible.

"The only way is to meditate and focus your attention on yourself, this world we are in now, the borders of this world, and finding your way out of here. Maybe try to build a gate inside the defense. I don't know what you should do. This is your consciousness. You are the one who can direct it any way you want it."

"None of you can get out at the moment?" Liam asked.

The Black Menace in front of him shook her head, Pollen did the same, and a shy voice answered him, "I don't know how to try it," Liam looked at Haru, "It's okay. Irma can tell you how to try," he directed her gaze at the other black being. A soft expression was visible on her fluffy features.

After that, Liam focused on meditating and exploring the place he was in. His consciousness was a very vast area. Unfortunately, it was so vast that he only knew a bit of it.

A day had passed outside, but Liam couldn't even count the time he spent in his consciousness. On that day, it seemed that Liam had grown much older. He was looking at parts of his consciousness and finally reached its edges or something of a kind.

What he reached wasn't precisely the edge of his consciousness but what was known. He reached the parts that had been hidden from him. Liam knew he should not touch this, but his curiosity had gotten the better of him again.

Just a mere dust speck before he touched the hidden parts when he recalled the giant sun he had seen once before. Liam pulled his hand away from the mist that seemed to cover a large area of his consciousness. It was as large or even more extensive than the part he was familiar with.

He would discover later that the area he knew was just a speck in the vast spectrum.

He sat in front of that strange mist and started his meditation again. This time though, he could feel something weird. He was already very impatient as he didn't know how much time had passed. He grabbed on to that strange new feeling and tried his best to understand it.

He found himself feeling energy he has felt before. He was familiar with the power, and recalled how he knew the energy. Like a light bulb being lit, all over the consciousness realm everything started to emit a kind of energy floctuation.

The two felines were getting familiar with each other. It was a slow process as Haru had been mad at the creature who had harmed Liam. It had taken her a while to understand why Irma had done so. But they had a long time to get to terms with each other, and finally, as they started to get closer, Irma understood that the creature her daughter was fascinated with had reached some understanding. She knew, it wouldn't be long, soon they were all going to be sent out.

Haru was still wary of Irma. She hadn't asked Irma about the things Liam was dealing with. She didn't trust the bigger beast; it would take her a while until she would.

Haru also felt something when the whole of the surroundings suddenly lit up. Like the world, they were in had been given new life.

That was practically it. Liam had discovered that the Seed in his heart had acted and sealed all the consciouses inside him so that it would eliminate all the dangers. Seeing that Liam had taken control back, it only left the Seed to protect his consciousness. The Seed had a mind, but it was only to take action when the host was in real danger. And that seemed to only apply to his soul.

Pollen had been tagging along with him. He wanted to see what would happen and how long it would take him to understand what was wrong. He wanted to see how he would solve the issue. He wasn't disappointed. He saw that the World Reader was a collected person who would assess and deal with the situation accordingly. He also saw him lose his cool several times, which was understandable. How would one person be perfect? That just didn't seem very smart to him. He was one of the few Avatars who knew a human character the most. And this specimen in front of him seemed to be a good candidate for a Seed Bearer.
