Two edge knife

"Your Highness, the second prince of Gousho, has arrived outside the front gate, he claims to be here to pay his respect to the late king," Molson reported the message sent over from the first gate of Dumbi.

Princess Jessica took a deep breath. Usually, the royal family of Gousho did not need to send a person from the royal family. It was okay as long as long as they sent a lord over, but since there was a marriage between the two families, it was expected.

"Thank him for his visit, but the whole Dumbi is locked down now," Princess Jessica said. She had no plans of allowing him inside the kingdom.

"Your Highness," Molson did not expect the princess to be unwilling to let the second prince enter. This was no different from declaring war between the kingdoms.

"What? Do you want my father to roll over? His brother killed my father. Our families are enemies going forward," Princess Jessica said. The royal family of Gousho has been acting out of line for so long that she had no plans of playing cat and mouse games with them. Since they dared to attack her father, then, she would fight to the end.

"Yes, your highness," Molson bowed. He knew that the late king wanted his daughter to carry on with the marriage, but he was only a servant and had no right to question the princess.

He walked out of the princess's presence, and he ran into old Grey. "What did the princess say?" Old Gray asked.

"She refuses to see the prince," Molson answered.

"Let me send the message to the prince. You should stay by the princess's side. Her life is the most important thing now," Old Gray said. It was like he had expected this reaction from the princess.

Molson felt that old Gray had a point. The palace was not as secure as it seemed on the surface, although they managed to deal with a few spies, some of them may be well hidden.

"Alright, " he agreed and returned to the princess's side.

"Old Gray," a shadow came out from his hidden.

"Protect the princess. The king has raised a secret Army, it is only right for us to follow his daughter after his death," Old Gray said. He knew that a few of the king's secret guards doubted the princess's ability.

"The princess does not plan to obey his Majesty. This is his last wish," the shadow did not seem willing.

"The princess is the only child of the king, he knows her well. I am sure the last king knows the princess will not marry the second prince once she finds out how he died. This is why he wanted us to send a message to the second prince, he would definitely come with an explanation. I would look down on the princess if she chose to save her life and not seek justice for her father," old Grey said.

"Then I would go with you, the second Prince is not as simple as he seems. What if something happens to you? You are the most capable subordinate the king left behind," The Shadow said.

"Don't worry. The second prince wants to marry the princess. The only thing I am unsure of is the reason, love or power. Whatever it is, he would need me alive to convince the princess," Old Grey said. He had followed the king long enough to know many things about the game of power.

The Shadow felt relieved and walked away. Old Gray walked outside the place to find his armour bearer "ready the horse. We will leave for the front gate immediately," Old Gray instructed.

The Amour bearer walked away and returned shortly with two horses. The two left the front gates.

"General, the second prince is here," A guard reported to Ramsey.

"What?" Ramsey was shocked. When he came up with this plan, he never wanted to kill the king. He just wanted to gain his approval. Now that his brother Joe got involved, things have become a bit more complicated.

"What is the princess's reaction?" Ramsey asked. He did not dare call a meeting, after all, this would not only expose him before the princess, he might even lose his life.

"Who knows? Old Gray is on the way to see him," The guard replied. The security in the palace has become so right it isn't easy to get news in or out

"not good. How are things on Maid May's side," Ramsey asked. If it were before, the maid would be able to send over the correct signal, and so they would know what the princess was trying to do.

"Maid May is still by the princess's side. It's just that no one is allowed into her study. That Molson is sharp. It is pretty challenging to get news from the Palace. If the second prince of Gousho had not been waiting outside for so long, we would have been ignorant of the situation, " The guard replied.

Ramsey took a deep breath, he thought of sending someone to follow old Gray, but he shook the idea out of his head. Old Gray was very skilled; sending someone was revealing his fingers. Things might not go well if that becomes the case.

"Pay attention to the movement, don't send anyone to inquire," Ramsey said.

The guard bowed, He understood what Ramsey wanted to do. It was customary for the generals and nobles to pay attention to what was happening within the kingdom. Still, it would raise unnecessary awareness if they deliberately inquired about the situation.

"Rickon ", Ramsey called out to his trusted subordinate.

"General," Rickon walked in and bowed.

"Send a message to lady Benedict; it's time for her to make a move," Ramsey instructed.

"General, can we trust Her?" Rickon asked.

"A woman who is blinded by Jealousy and Greed is the easiest to manipulate. Do as I say, Lady Benedict wants the sit of the queen. The power of the queen and the king's sister is word apart," Ramsey said.

"General Ramsey is wise," The guard took a deep breath and bowed. Indeed, if Benedict can become the queen, why would she choose to help others instead?

Ramsey nodded his head, he knew for a fact that Benedict could be used, but she was a two edge knife. Since he promised to love her and make her the Queen, he did have to fulfil it. A person who turns against her family for benefits can turn against everyone.

Ramsey was convinced that Benedict would not be easy to dump after he used her. Good thing he did not plan to leave her, by making her the Queen, he would be shorting the mouth of General Daiz. Moreover, she was easier to manipulate compared to princess Jessica.
