Act on her own

Benedict looked St the note in her hand. The carriage rider had sent it to her. After the last time she met Ramsey they have come to an understanding.

After thinking for a while, Benefit went to her father's study.

"Father," she called as she knocked on the door.

"Come in," General Daiz said. He had been trying his best to think about how to snatch the throne for his son. He knew how difficult it would be for him to get it.

"Father, I was thinking to visit the palace, I got information that the second prince of Gousho has arrived at the first gate," Benedict said.

"What? How did you know that?" General Dauz was surprise? He had his eyes an ears around the kingdom, yet he missed something so important

"Father, I have been by the princess side for so many years, I should be able to gather information for you," Benedict said. She knew how difficult it would be for her to leave the house without her father's permission.

"I should go with you," General Daiz raised to his feet. Benedict did not try to stop him but her face seemed troubled.

"What is the matter?" General Dauz frowned his brows.

"Father, I think it would not be nice for us to go together. The Princess is wry if you. I can still get information because she trust me but if we arrive together..." Benedict stopped talking and looked at her father.

She had plans of sending a message to Ramesy after entering the palace. If her father was to go with her it would become difficult.

"You are right, take the carriage and remember, to be nice to her. If we can know her plan it would be easier to prepare a countermeasures. When your brother becomes the king, you would be vauled by your inlaws," General Dauz said. He felt that he had to remind Benedict the benefit of supporting her brother to snatch the throne.

"I understand," Benedict nodded her head. She looked so obedient that one could not guess that she was thinking otherwise. In her heart, she would rather support the princess to become the queen. Princess Jessica treated her like sister and so it did not matter which of them would sit on the throne.

What she wanted was to fight for herself, why could she not become the queen that was feared and repeated by all? Why does she have to rely on her cousin or brother?

Besides, she doubted there would be anything good from her bother. J might even marry her off to some old man in other to fight for the throne. Although she had all this calculations, she did not voice them out.

After getting his permission, she left his study and returned to her room to change.

"my lady, should I go along with you to the palace?" The servant that was helping her dress up asked her.

"Yes," Benedict answered. She felt that she could trust her to keep a secret. The maid was given to her by her mother.

"My lady looks beautiful," the maid said. Since they were still mourning the king, she could not dress up too much. She was wearing a black dress with pale colour pattern.

Benedict nodded in satisfaction hearing the praise. "Remember, the time is very sensitive. You must watch what you say and your actions," Benedict warned.

"I will not cause trouble for my lady," The maud bowed her head. Although she did not know many things, she knew that the first and second house hold if Tiat we're having a cold war.

When Benedict heard this she felt satisfied. "If you serve me, you must learn to keep my secrets. You must choose today if you are loyal to the family or to me your lady," Veneduct said.

When the maid heard this her eyes flashed. She knew very well that the daughter of the family was not treated we'll. It was only because of the family image that she still hard people to take care of her.

"My lady, this maid us loyal to you," the maid's knee down and said. She thought about it carefully. As a maid that has been working in the house, she knew that the second house wanted to snatch the throne from the first house.

If Benedict was drawing a line between herself and the family, it meant that she wanted to support the princess. Although it seemed wrong to betray her family, the maid knows that only princess Jessica treated her well. Although Madam Daiz was not as harsh as the father and son, she never supported her against her brother.

"You have made the right choice in the future, as long as you don't betray me," Benedict said. When the maid heard this, she smiled and thanked her.

Benedict was relieved, she was happy that the maid did not ask questions before choosing to support her. This way, she could have her people within the household that would help keep her secret.

Benedict got up holding her down, the maid also stood up and walked after her. Soon they got outside. Benedict had also chosen to use the same Couchman that she had given a few gold coins the last time she met with Ramsey.

"My lady," the Couchman was very respectful. After getting so much gold coins from the last time, he had began to see Benefic in a different light.

When the maid saw his action she was surprised after all, it was an open secret that the young lady was not valued by the family.

"To the palace," Benedict said. Her maid helps her into the carriage before joining her. Benedict was a bit nervous z although she consistently reported everything to her father, this was the first time she was going to act one her own.

The journey to the palace too about two hours. When Benedict arrived it was already in the afternoon.

"Lady Benedict Tait, cousin and friend of the princess is here to pay her respect to her uncle and visit the princess," The Couchman said.
