"Yes, who are you two?" Sarah replied politely. With this respectful attitude, it's no wonder Sarah was able to teach Steve well.

On the other hand, Steve looked at the two strangers curiously; It seemed that the other side was still a student.

Steve remained silent and stood behind his mother despite a suspicious stare, watching calmly.

"I'm Yves, a Brooklyn high school student, this is my friend, Olly."

"I happen to want to buy second-hand stuff; when I see you from afar, I think you're going to sell your Tv," Yves explained his purpose.

Sarah blinked several times, after which she put the Tv carried by Steve on the ground. "This is our home Tv; I just lost my job and needed money for our living needs."

Yves nodded understandingly, then asked, "Can I check on it first?"

"Of course, you can check it as you want; this Tv has only been in use for a year." Sarah nodded in agreement.

Yves squatted down and started checking the Tv quickly, "Not bad, this Tv is almost new; I'll pay you a hundred dollars for this. What do you think?"

Yves immediately took out his offer. Hearing this, Sarah began to think.

"If you sell it to someone else, maybe this thing will only sell for fifty to sixty dollars," Yves explains professionally. Indeed his offer is straightforward to accept.

And yes, a little later, Sarah immediately nodded in agreement. "Okay, but we need a cash transaction; I don't want to trade it for anything else."

Yves nodded; "No problem, but I need your help to get this thing to my home, my house is not far from here."

"Please come with me if you trust me."

Sarah looked a little hesitant. However, she did not know whether the other party was a good person.

When looking at his mother's innocence, Steve stepped forward. "Don't worry, mom. I don't think they're bad people; let's go; this won't take much time."

Hearing his son's words, Sarah could only nod in agreement.

She wouldn't dare follow those two strange men if she were alone. A mature woman seems to have a lot of social experience; of course, she is cautious.

The four of them walked quickly towards a residential area. People who can live in this area certainly have an economy that is not too bad.

After a few minutes, there's a recently renovated three-story wooden house; it was Yves' house.

Now he lives alone there, but that doesn't mean he doesn't have a sister; his sister works at a police station that requires her to live in a dorm.

From the beginning of his crossing into this world until now, Yves has still never met his sister.

"Please take a sit, think of it as your own home."

"Hey, Olly, you can put it here; thanks for the help. Tell Aunt Barra that I'm coming to your family dinner tonight." Yves invites Steve and Sarah to sit in the living room. After that, he walked to his room to pick up the money.

Olly put down his friend's goodies items with a bit of panting.

"Yves, you bastard, remember to buy me dinner tomorrow."

"Also, I need water!" The exhausted Olly immediately took the water at Yves' house selflessly. After being relieved, he immediately left and returned to his own home.

On the other hand, Steve looked around curiously; the house's condition was excellent, even making him feel a little envious.

With a house this big, even a family of eight would fit.

This house looks very empty, like only the buyer's man lives in this house.

His eyes looked the other way; on the table were small mechanical items scattered.

Yves came down from upstairs with the money he promised a little later. After paying Sarah the money, Yves immediately poured them a cup of coffee.

"Please enjoy the coffee." Yves offered with a gentle smile.

"Can we have a little chat?" Ask Yves.

"Sure." Sarah nodded.

"I happen to have another job for you if you wanted."

"A job? What kind of job is that, sir?" After hearing the words' job', Sarah immediately called the other party in an honour tone.

It was tough to find a job in the Great Depression-era like it is today.

Just yesterday, the Wall Street labour agents announced that they wanted to hire fifty employees. As a result, five thousand people attended the interview!

This is proof that this year's economy is devastated!

"I want to ask you something first, how many people are there in your family? What kind of job have you done before? Also, please tell me your name and age." Yves immediately asked a lot of questions in a professional tone.

Yves is well aware that the American economy will not improve until World War II. For a family, stable work is a must to improve their lives.

"My name is Sarah, I'm forty years old, and this is my son, Steve."

"There were only two of us in our family, I used to work as a nurse in a private clinic."

Sarah continued, "But the clinic was closed, and I lost my job. I can treat wounds, be a caretaker, and cook!" Sarah looks pretty nervous. She felt like she was doing an interview with a recruiter.

This is a significant opportunity to determine their family's income; she must take full advantage of this opportunity!

Yves nodded as he noted some details on a notebook. "I see; what about your husband?" Hearing this sensitive question made Sarah's eyes glow with a trail of sadness, seems unable to answer the difficult question that the man posed.

Steve, who had been silent, immediately replied, "Died, my father was a military soldier Infantry number-107, he died of Mustard gas when the First World War broke out."

"I see; it seems that your mother is a Widow..."
