Adina did not let what was happening with Mason distract her. She felt it, she knew, she saw it. That was why she was here and not Davina. Davina had to be there or they were going to lose. Adina had to be here with Nexus and Rue. They were trying hard and twice now the Leviathan nearly lunged for him. 

When the flash of white came and the Kraken was clearly out cold, that was when the Leviathan reacted. Clearly it knew if it did not act now, it was going to have more to deal with. It shot out of the water and sent out an electrical charge that ballooned out in the air and hurt damn bad even as the two of them tried to get out of the way. They were still struck by some of it. It used that moment to try and go for Eliza and Adina.
