The Wedding

The day for Jessica's wedding finally came. I received a call from Wendy that she ordered a suit for me and that it's being delivered to my apartment. I prepared myself and soon, I received a knock on my door. I opened the door and I saw a tall white delivery man holding a package. "Are you Mr. Henry Miles?", The delivery man asked. "Yeah, that's me. This is for me, right?", I said. "Yes, but I need you to sign here and here", The delivery man said pointing at two pieces of papers he had in his hand. I signed on the papers and collected the package. I opened the package and inside was a neatly ironed and packaged black suit with bow tie. There was also a black shoe to match with the suit. "Seriously?", I said smiling. I dressed up for the wedding and wore my best smile. I walked outside and found a white limousine parked outside my apartment building. I looked inside, and it was Wendy and two other ladies that were inside. "Come on get in. We've been waiting for you", Wendy said. I watched as a man probably the driver came and opened the door for me to go in. I entered, and he closed the door. "You didn't tell me you were bringing this", I said. "I just wanted to surprise you. Please meet my friends Linda and Emily", Wendy said. I introduced myself to them with a handshake. "I'm Henry by the way. Nice to meet you ladies", I said. "Wendy you never told us you had a handsome boyfriend", Emily said pouring more champagne for herself. "I guess I didn't want someone like you around him", Wendy said, and everyone laughed. "I broke up with mine a month ago. I caught him cheating after everything I did for that fool", Linda said sadly. "I'm really sorry for you dear. You can't really expect anything again these days", Wendy said. "Alright everyone, pick up a glass cup. Let's get this party started. But first I would like to make a toast", Linda said. I grabbed a glass cup and served myself a glass of champagne as well. "This is to Jessica. Wishing her a happy married life and lots of kids", Linda said, and everyone shouted "Cheers". The car stopped at the venue of the wedding party. I missed the church service because I didn't plan on spending too much time at the wedding. I'm not used to attending big ceremonies. Wendy took my hand and lead me to a special place with fancier chairs. "What's this place?", I asked. "This is the VIP section. You wouldn't want people dragging seats with you over there", Wendy replied pointing to another direction. Jessica and her husband were seated at a special decorated spot in the room. It was at that moment I realized I was supposed to bring some gifts for the bride and groom. "Such a fool I am", I said to myself. I stood up to go outside but Wendy saw me and stopped me. "Where are you going? The party's just getting started", Wendy asked. "I'm not going anywhere. I just need to go outside and grab some fresh air. I'll be back in few minutes", I replied and gave Wendy a peck. I grabbed a glass cup of wine being served at the wedding and walked outside. I walked further until I was away from the wedding reception and close to the road. I looked over to the road and saw 3 black Mercedes Benz G-Wagon vehicles speeding towards me. I watched as the cars moved into the party's vicinity and parked randomly. Some men in black suit with M-16 rifles in their hands, stepped out of the vehicle and marched towards the wedding reception building. I recognized one of the men as Edward, Bronx's son. "What's this idiot doing here?", I asked myself. "Move inside that party. I want to surprise everybody today. Anyone that tries stopping you, take them down", Edward ordered. I called Wendy to tell her to hide but she wasn't answering her phone. Edward walked inside and fired several shots in the air scaring everyone and forcing them to go down on the floor. "Everybody on the ground", Edward shouted. "Today is redemption day". I took out my hand gun and moved stealthily and quietly behind the Mercedes vehicles. Two guys were outside watching out. I moved close to the first one, grabbed him and snapped his neck. I walked to the next one and took him by surprise. I grabbed his head from behind and smashed it on the car causing him to drop his gun. I grabbed his head and smashed it on the car few more time to make sure he's dead. I ran to the wall of the building and looked in through the window. I saw Edward's boys all over the place with Edward talking with the couples. If I try attacking them, they might kill Jessica, her husband and others in that place. I can't afford to see such a thing happen. I took my phone again and dialed Jack's number and he answered immediately. "Jack, there's real problem right now", I said. "What's wrong?", Jack asked. "It's Edward. He just stormed Jessica's wedding party with his boys. I don't know what the dude wants but I think he's planning something bad". "I'm on my way just stay there", Jack said and ended the call. I looked inside the party again and everybody was on the floor including Wendy and her friends, but Jessica and her husband were still seated. Edward probably refused them joining others on the floor. "I don't understand what's going on here. You can't just come into my party. You are uninvited guests, please I need you all to leave", Daniel, Jessica's husband said. Edward walked up to him and hit him with the head of his gun. "Watch your mouth or it might get you in trouble. You're still seated because you're the groom. I wouldn't want to spoil your day, would I", Edward said. Daniel spat out blood from his mouth due to the injury from the hit. "There are some of you here that shouldn't be surprised about my presence here", Edward said as he walked up to Wendy. "Your boyfriend's not here to save you today. You all are going down". "This right here is a big surprise for everybody here", Edward said as he dropped a black bag on the floor. His boys also did the same and opened the bags. Everybody screamed at what they saw in the bag. "It's a bomb", Someone shouted. Edward saw a middle aged, woman trying to make a phone call. He rushed towards her and grabbed the phone from her. He checked the screen of the phone and smiled. "You wanted to call 911", Edward said. "No, it was a mistake. I never meant to call anybody", The woman said. Edward pretended to leave but pulled out his hand gun and shot the woman dead. Everybody screamed as the woman dropped on the floor. "I hate lies. This is what will happen to anyone that tries inviting the cops to this very special party", Edward shouted. I sighed as I saw what Edward did to the woman and it enraged me. I pulled out my other hand gun and stood up to move inside the building. I shot the first two people I saw with Edward. They were standing at the entrance of the building. Edward heard the sound from the gun shots and pulled out his hand gun. He saw me and ordered his boys to kill me and immediately, they began firing towards me. I ran and took cover immediately. Edwards boys advanced towards me as they fired but there was no visible place to run because I might get hit if I make any attempt. I waited patiently for them to come close, but I heard some gun shots outside and one of Edward's boys dropped dead. I looked outside and saw Jack, Eddie and Bob returning fire at Edward and his boys. I stood up and returned fire as well. "What took you so long?", I asked Jack, but he didn't give me a reply. With the help of Jack and the rest of the team, we took down all of Edward's boys and it was Edward himself that was left. I held my gun as I moved towards him. "You don't have to kill me bro. Worry about yourself. That C4 has already been set. Worry about how to disarm it or all of you will die", Edward said as he ran to his car and drove out quickly. "What are we going to do about these bombs?", I asked feeling impatient. "That son of a bitch should be dead by now. Today was just his lucky day", Jack said. "He won't be lucky like this next time. We only have few seconds left on this thing. Let's carry it outside and toss it away", I said. "That's too dangerous. It will explode if anybody touches it carelessly", I said. "Everybody get out of here now. Run, leave here before this thing explodes". People stood up and began to run outside quickly. I waited for Wendy as well as Jessica and her husband to leave before leaving. I checked the timer on the bomb and it was just 10 seconds left. "Let's get out of here!", I ordered, and the team began to run out. We haven't gone far from the place before the bomb caused a massive explosion that sent knocked people off balance. Luckily for me, one of the Mercedes cars shielded me. When everything calmed down, I saw someone in a white dress lying on the floor. I stood up and walked closer to have a better look and it was Jessica. The explosion caught up with her before she could take cover. Wendy saw her as well and ran to her. Jessica sustained injuries on her head and other parts of her body. I took out my phone and called the emergency team immediately. I looked around and saw more people that were injured from the explosion. "We need to take her to the hospital", I said as I went to Wendy to comfort her. "I've called the emergency unit. They will be here very soon". "This was not supposed to happen", Wendy said as she cried. "She doesn't deserve this. She doesn't deserve any of this. This was supposed to be a wedding not a disaster". The emergency arrived moments later and attended to Jessica. She was placed on oxygen and drip and Wendy stayed beside her in the van to accompany her to the hospital. They also attended to other injured people at the scene. About two people were confirmed dead and carried away. I saw Daniel seated on the floor looking messed up as well. He cared less about the injury he sustained but the emergency unit insisted that he follow them to the hospital for a thorough checkup to make sure there's nothing else wrong with him. I walked up to Daniel before he left and touched his shoulder. "Don't worry, she's going to be alright", I said. "Who were those people?", Daniel asked. "Some people you don't need to know about. All I need you to do is stay safe as much as you can for Jessica", I said. "Look at what they did to her…to my wife. If this is something the police can handle, let me call them right now", Daniel said taking out his phone. "The police are already on their way to investigate this place. I promise I'll fix all of this. Those people won't go free. They will pay for what they did to your wife", I said with all the courage I could find within myself. I went to Wendy who was inside the van with her sister. "Call me and tell me the hospital", I said as I grabbed her hand and held it tightly. "I'm very sorry this had to happen. But I promise you that all of this, I'll fix it. At least if not for any other person, for you. I know how much your sister means to you and that alone means something to me as well". "Alright. I'll give you a call but promise me that no matter what you're doing, you won't get yourself killed", Wendy said looking deep into my eyes. I paused for a while and replied her "I promise". Daniel entered the emergency van and it drove away straight to the person. The sight of seeing Wendy alone cry is enough for me to do something I might regret. I know how much she means to me and I can't afford to see any more tears on her face. "It's time for these bastards to pay", I said angrily as I walked away.
