Facing Reality

"Why did you follow me?"

The smoke coming from her cigarette slowly blends in the air along with her breath. She huffed and put her hand down, kicking the small rocks under her feet. This spot was at the right side of the hotel. A narrow small alley good for smoking.

The silence between them made the cars in the background audible to Felix's ears. He can tell that Devyn wasn't happy with her father's proposal. Good thing that his father covered up for him.

"You don't need to follow me here like a dog." Devyn emphasized those words, putting off the fire at the tip of her cigarette under her foot. She breathed and leaned on the wall. "My old man will never listen to me."

Her brows furrowed as she put both hands in the pocket of her brown coat. The night was a little chilly today. Good thing, she grabbed her coat before exiting the room. She can't stay there anymore. It was too suffocating to even breath.
