CHAPTER 16

The class was boring as usual... And soon we had our lunch hour. I started grabbing my stuff ready to leave..

" Where are you going?" He asked packing his things in a haste as if I was going to run away.

"To my usual spot" I spoke as I walked out of the class, him following right behind me.

" So, what did you do different today?" He asked bringing back the topic from this morning.

" I didn't do anything different." I replied as I took the stairs to the rooftop. What was he going on about..

" What did my scent tell you then.." I asked out of curiosity.

" That you're The Faerelore, The one and only left of the Psithurist bloodline." He explained slowly as if was a child. We were already at the rooftop.. I had set it up in a cozy place. I was proud of that..

" I know, I am a Faerelore... Wait, What's a Psithurist?" I needed to focus to get answers but he just breathed in the fresh air. Isn't that the name of the book that we stole... Yeah, You're right..

" This is cool. I like what you've done to this place. Does nobody ever come here?" He was distracted and I needed answers.

" No, nobody comes here, That's why I set it up." It was like my hiding spot. Our college/ school was small with lesser students. So there was indeed no check...

" Interesting... You surprise me every single time...." He smiled genuinely. I took a seat on one of the chairs I had placed. He came and sat beside me staring at me intently.

"Soo....." I started... and he mimicked me...

"Soo...." I just gave him a look

"Kane.... you said I was a Psithurist. What did that mean?" I asked again trying to ignite the original topic of the conversation. He just gave me a look and started explaining

"You're from the ancient line of whisperers, Faerelore. They are the most powerful creatures to ever exist on Earth and you are one of them. The word got out that Shadowmere Kingdom had a Faerelore in possession so there's a big committee of Elders that's going to sit in two weeks. The other three kingdoms are scared of what Shadowmere can do. They are already feared as is and a whisperer in possession only means invincibility. It's the only kingdom with mysterious creatures and powers. " He explained telling me everything he knew.

"But, I don't have any powers..." As I completed my sentence, he looked at me as if I had grown two horns on my head... I knew the Kingdom was feared because of the diverse bloodlines and even though I was a Faerelore, I had no powers...

" That's not possible, you probably just don't know how to tap in..." He explained once again...

" Can you help me, then? " I asked innocently. I needed his help. He was the first person to ever give me answers and I was ready to take any help that I got.

" I am a werewolf, Faerelore. The powers I have, come from my other half, my wolf. When we are together we guide each other, we are connected through body and soul. I haven't met a whisperer before but maybe same is the case with you... " He looked at me expectantly.. Can I really tell him about El, But we just met yesterday... can you really trust him?  That's exactly what I want to know. I can't keep myself safe if I don't have allies... He has a pack right? Let's try to go there... Maybe it will show us what we want..

" Can you teach me how to fight?" I asked and continued" I only know a few things that I had picked up from the books but you big wolves surely know how to fight so teach me..."There were alot of emotions in my voice but the most evident was fear. With a clear declaration of war from the queen herself, I needed to have a few tricks up my sleeve But hope that It doesn't get to that point Elaara. I agree with you El, but it's best to be prepared for what's to come.

"We can go to our pack for training". Kane spoke again and continued" Even though you hide it well, Faerelore. I can see your eyes glowing through your glasses. It's the perk that I have from my heightened senses." I just looked at him. He was really good. He could easily become a spy. I hid it because I had to but with him, He wasn't scared. He wasn't judging me just like Aehannik, when we had first met. He wasn't worried when he saw my hair glow. He didn't care about it all. He took care of me when I fainted. He broke the trance I was in.

So, how did he change this much in just a few days. How did his personality got such a major flip, I mean , he was arrogant before and cold but he knew his extents. This was a mystery that I wanted to resolve as much as I wanted to resolve the ghosts of my past. He cleared his throat to get my attention...

"We can start training, after school. I'll bring you to my pack."

" No, I'll meet you tonight near the edge of the forest...I have somethings I need to deal with.." My stupid house, from where I snuck out this morning.

He agreed with me and we went on with a little bit sparring here and there. He did give me some good pointers. He was good. He was agreeing to help me without an ulterior motive, That did me give slight confidence. But you need to be sure... Don't give out to much information.. I won't El, I promise.... She was indeed right! we needed to be careful.

The school went on as usual and soon I was outside my house trying to sneak in the same way, I came out. To avoid any trouble, I just thought about lying that I just woke up. The door of my room was locked and there wouldn't be much problem. I sneaked up slowly and carefully. I went in through the window changing and going straight downstairs. I was met with silence, pure silence.. Where was everybody? Are they not home? At least that was good for me.... I fixed up my lunch and sat in the lounge basking in the peace that I was receiving after a long time.

My uncle was talking about some paperwork when he was talking to King Alaric.... What was that fiasco about. There was a meeting of the Elders in two weeks to discuss about me... How have I managed to gain so much enemies but no friends and the only person that I had trusted and helped and believed in, turned out to be someone I no longer knew.

To avoid any run down, I stayed for a while and went upstair to go through the journals again to make sure I hadn't missed out on anything. There were my only source of knowledge at this point. Soon it was night and time to sneak out. I hadn't heard anything from my uncle the entire day. Although, I enjoyed it, the freedom but it was also making me anxious. He was definitely planning something...

I started packing a small bag to carry my essentials to sneak out again. I was picking up some clothes to change into, when I heard the knock on the door. It was hurried. All of the alarm, in my brain went off.

The Storm had arrived.

Calming myself a bit, I opened the door only to be met with my cousin Freya. She just spoke and left in a haste.

"Father is asking for you, He's in his study" What was that about?

What now???

Stay strong, you've got this....El spoke out trying to boost my confidence.. I really needed it... I dreaded my steps towards my uncle's study. I knocked on the door to just get it over with.

I heard a come in, so I stepped inside leaving the door open behind me. My uncle was sitting on his chair, behind his magnificent desk as he went through the content of something that was in front of him. His study was beautiful, filled with thousands of books, surrounding us. It was a cozy and a warm setting. He spent most of his time in here.

" Everything is sorted. Nobody should be aware of this occurrence. How did the words get out? " He spoke out of the blue startling me. What was he going on about? Was this directed towards me?

I cleared my thought to get his attention..

" Pack your belongings, You are leaving with him" He announced leaving me in shock. Did he lose his mind? What was he going on about?

" Where? With who?" I spoke, a lot of thoughts running through my head.

"With me, Faerelore" Another man spoke putting me yet again into another trouble that I wasn't ready for..
