"the boss is in a good mood"

"Is this real news, how come?"

"Believe it not, am sure it's some false rumors to get everyone fired"

" It sure can't be possible"

"I think the trip he went on took a good toll on him"

But it was indeed a true news. As Marcus walked into the company, he waved to everyone with the lopsided smile still on his face.

The face of his workers was dumfounded. Mostly still not believing what they are seeing.

When he got to his office, Brian walked in with an unreadable expression. And Stella was smiling sheepishly at him.

"Sir?" Stella said unsure.

"Yes" he answered.

"May I ask what's wrong"

"Why?"he asked collecting the stack up file from the still expressionless Brian.

"You're...you are smiling" she said looking at Brian and looking back at Marcus.

"Am I?" He said as he tried to pinch his face back into a frown.

"Yes sir."

"When is my meeting schedule" he asked dismissing the topic and facing Brian.

Brian checked the time. And looked confused.

"Am sorry sir....but.....I think I made a mistake. Your meeting is supposed to be ten am but I forget to inform you"

"Ok... reschedule it as soon as possible and let me Know when it's time"

"Sir?" Both Brian and Stella mouthed in unison, a confused expression on both their face.

No lecture. Not being fired.

Today is indeed a good day.

Stacy was cooking in the kitchen when Brian's call came in and she picked it immediately.

"Hey Brian...."

"For the first time in a long while,Stacy, the boss came to work smiling and he was in a good mood.

"He was? He went on a business trip, when did he get back?"

"Yesterday night, but he was in a damn good mood this morning. What do you think Is going on?"

" I pray it shouldn't be what am thinking. It shouldn't or I'll kill them both."

" Your plan, when will you carry it out."

"Soon, as soon as I confirm what's going on between those two"

"Ok Stacy, just called to tell you what's going on"

"Keep me updated" she said and ended the call angrily.

"That bitch of a woman" she smacked the knife in her hand hard on the table.

"What have you done to my man this time around." She snarled harshly, her fury evidence in her brown eyes.

Sophie was watching a program on the television in Marcus place, the time was still six thirty and she was done with all her work. Her mind wasn't on the TV but had floated back to her encounter with Marcus this morning. At the rememberance of it, she felt her cheeks turned bright red and straightened up.

"Forget all about it you fool, am sure he wouldn't even remember a thing about it anyway." She told herself.

Her ringing phone brought her back to the present.

Her mom

"Mom?"

"Sophie, Dave's here"

"Dave?" She searched her memory for who Dave is.

"Yeah your boyfriend."

Oh!

"He not my boyfriend mom, he's just my good friend. And where had he been all this while, he just disappeared from the face of the Earth"

"Will you speak with him" her mom asked.

"Uhmnn no, tell him to drop off his contact, am at work now, I'll branch your place when I leave work, just tell him I said hi"

"Okay dear, see you soon."

After she ended the call, she relaxed back against the chair.

Dave. What was the guy looking for after all this years. He must have grown more into a man since she last saw him. They were classmates since high school and they had been good Friends. Even after they graduated high school and he went off to college. He had kept in contact with her for a short while but after sometime he became unreachable. She hadn't had the chance to attend college, her mom wasn't that rich and her sister and husband had promised to help her out both both had died and going to college for her became a dream.

Her phone rang again, this Time it was Stella. She wouldn't lie Stella was a bit weird this day. The Stella she knew before hardly call her but now, she called every single day. Something seems fishy.
