Chapter twenty seven

Three weeks had passed by. Marcus health was gradually improving. And everything seems to be perfect. But one thing was still wrong. Sophie life was still threatened every single day.

She walked in to see The so called Brian, Marcus manager in the private hospital room assigned to Marcus alone.

He had visited Marcus once before Marcus woke up. And Sophie had caught him staring hard at him in his sleep. Since then Sophie has had a very bad feeling about him. He seem to have a very sly way of looking at people, whenever he pinned that his sly gaze on her, Sophie felt her inner tension cringed in dismay and utter annoyance.

"I'll get back to work as soon as I can. Don't Know when I will be discharged yet though" Marcus was telling Brian.

"Ok sir..... I'll make sure to do my best. Stella is okay with assisting too so don't worry"

After he left, Sophie entered. Having only left to give them some privacy.

"I don't like that man. I don't know why but he makes me cringe"

Marcus gave a small smile and said nothing, as he layed back against the bed.

"You're red" he said "Are you okay....you look like you'll need some rest".

"Yeah, I've been feeling a bit off since three days ago. I think I may be sick, but am fine though, am sure it's nothing serious" Sophie said opening the flask of food she brought him.

"Don't you think you should see the doctor, a medical checkup will convince us what wrong" he opened his mouth for her to feed him some herbal soup.

"I will do that. But not until you're okay yourself"

He smiled again.

"I want you to do whatever it is you have to do now. I don't want you sick okay"

She gave him the ' what's wrong with you ' look

"I said am fine. I'm just feeling nauseous, that all. It's nothing that a few days rest can't cover" she told him.

She sure needed some few days rest. Or even weeks rest. She had been by his side all through his stay here. Only leaving him to go home and shower.

Then she'll come back to feed him some food she had made. She made sure he was okay and he would never forget the way she was when he opened his eyes the nest day after his surgery.

She was so pale and had gone day without food or bath, just a change of clothing that Stella had brought for her. Her eyes were swollen and red and there were big bags of dark circles under her eyes. Even her hair hadn't been combed. She looked completely like a ghost.

If it wasn't because of the pain he was feeling then. He would have laughed at her for the way she looked. But he couldn't. Or all his stitches would come loosening out. and that wasn't something he wants to experience.

**** ****

Sophie was not feeling too well lately, She felt nauseous and couldn't stand the scent of the coffee she had bought this morning. Even the meal she prepared tasted sour in her mouth.

She wiped the card to Marcus house gate and the gate opened. She went in to take her bath and go back to the hospital.

Marcus's place has been her hideout since the Incident. And Marcus had forced her into staying at his place for the main time saying he didn't trust her own apartment.

He was right though. She didn't either.

After she was done showering and putting on new clothes, she was about to leave but her gaze fell on the big bed in his room. Why does the bed seem so inviting today. she checked her time, it says twelve twenty four.

Ok she can do it. She'll sleep for thirty minutes. By one o clock she would leave for the hospital. Resting for few minutes won't kill her would it.

She jumped on the big bed. Smiling happily. She drifted off into a peaceful slumber.

She woke up three hours later. When she checked her time it was past three in the afternoon.

"What!....oh my God!"

she scrambled off the bed, hurriedly putting on her sandals as she went downstairs. The way she hurried down the stairs surprisingly made her stomach turned.

And a wave of nausea washed over her and she felt really dizzy. Grabbing onto the railing ofthe staircase to steady herself.

What wrong. she asked herself. She had never felt this way before. Not even when she was seriously sick.

But now... before she could think again, her upturned stomach began to ruffle and she ran quickly to the guest bathroom closest to her. And she vomited out the little food she ate that day.

Had she become really so sick that she now vomited?

Another wave of nausea washed over her but no vomit came. After cleaning herself up. She walked out of the bathroom and collected her car key from the table.

She went out of the house, got into the car and drove straight to the hospital.

She needs to do some text to confirm what's wrong with her.

"Am sorry I slept off, didn't Know I'll sleep that long, I hadn't slept like that for years now". she told Marcus as she sat beside him on the bed.

"And I vomited. I just felt so nauseous when I woke up that I vomited"

"You did..... What's wrong.....do you need to see the doctor now. I think you should do a text to confirm. Sophie, I think you might be pregnant" he told her softly.

Wait....what?

She was pregnant?

Sophie stood up and ran to the doctor, was she truely pregnant?

She carrying Marcus Baby?

Oh no!
