When they got home and he parked. Marcus got down and quickly moved to her side of the car to open the door for her. Scooped her up again in his arms and carried her into the house. Up the stairs and into her bedroom. He placed her very gently on the bed and stood to stare at her.
She sat up slowly and would not meet his eyes. After few minutes of threatening silence. She spoke.
"Am sorry" She murmured. Her voice blurry as if she would cry. like as if on cue he saw tears slip down her eyes and he felt sorry for her.
"Am sorry...I...I'm really sorry. I just wanted to....to visit my friend, I never knew the person I had been calling my best friend all along was actually my enemy and worst of all your Ex!" She cried and Marcus sat beside her and drew her to him. Patting her back lightly as he felt her tears damping his shirt.
"Cry all you want Sophie, it sure releases tension" He told her and she burst out crying.
She cried so hard that Marcus almost felt like she wouldn't stop. But minutes after, her cry became hiccups, he brought out an handkerchief from his pocket and helped her clean her face and wipe her nose.
"It's going to be okay. I promise"
"I....I...just thought.....I just thought I had a friend. But....but she was your Ex? You told me your ex had a child for your father but Stacy doesn't have a child" she said facing him again, her face a mixture of sadness, worry, anger and curiosity.
"Then there are many things you didn't know about your friend. She must have kept a lot of secrets from you"
"She didn't....or.....All she ever told me was that she had been single all her life and had her fair share of guys. But nothing like a child"
Marcus stood up and folded his arms, nodding.
"How could she do this. How can she? And were the hell did she keep the innocent child"
"My father may know about that."
"Won't you go see him. To ask?"
"Why? He has too many kids to care about just one. And me going to meet my father isn't something I've done in a long time now, don't want him getting the wrong idea."
"The wrong idea?"
" He must have heard of what happened to Brian by now. And for sure he'll know am the one behind it"
"How does that concerns your father?"
"That's because Brian is my immediate brother, from another mother, and I just found out about it not too long ago"
"Wait... What? He's your brother? You shot your brother?"
He nodded.
Sophie grew more paler than Even before. And she looked do sad he felt she would cry again.
"All this are happening because of me. You had to shoot your brother because of me. You hurt your Ex, who had your father's child, you got shot too and had to stay in the hospital for months and it's all because of me."
Hot tears began flowing down her cheeks again but Marcus wasn't about to take what she said to be correct.
"You're wrong! None of this happened because of you. They where just meant to happen"
"They were meant to happen because I came into your life! I...I just want everything to be okay" Sophie said. Covering her face with her hands as she cried softly.
Marcus hugged her tightly again as he whispered to her.
"None of this would have happened truely if they hadn't touched what's mine. You matter a lot to me, our baby too. How will I do nothing when they keep hurting you and the innocent life growing inside you"
Sophie reasoned to what he had said and thought it true but she still felt very bad.
"How did you know we where there? How did you even Know where we are?"
She asked curiously, Snuggling into the base of his arms and wrapping her arms right around him.
He gave a small smile.
"Scott told me, the last man who's left in the house. and I asked him to find out your location right away. It was like as if I knew something like this would be happening there. My instinct told me to get my gun which i did"
"You seem brutal there. but I was so glad to see you."
He patted her head lovingly. Placing a kiss right on top of her head. And stealing the chance to inhale her hair.
Heavenly. he thought.

Stacy woke up first. She could feel her pounding head and aching body. Her still blurry vision made things even worse. She could feel the tightening on her body as she tried to stand up. It felt like something was binding her together which was true because when her vision finally cleared she saw the sting ropes caging her.
"Shit!" She said as her eyes drifted up and she could see Brian few feets away from her. His legs bandaged and tire to his hands.
She could remember he had been shot.
Was he okay? Washed dead?
She tried to move closer to him but her numb body wouldn't respond to her command. All her Fingers and feet felt numb and she couldn't feel them at all due to the pressure of the ropes tying them together.
"Hey! Brian...." She called, trying her best to shift towards him and using one of her still numb foot to nudge him awake.
Or was he truely dead? Has he bleed to death? No.....no, he can't be dead.
"Brian.....get up bastard!"
He coughed and coughed. Then he rolled over slowly. Facing Stacy and then groaning in pain when she pressed her feet against his wounded leg.
"Damn it Stacy. That hurts like hell" He said trying to sit up as slowly as he could.
"You scared the shit out of me. I thought you where dead!" Stacy told him.
"Dead? I could have died....No, we could have died. I wonder why they didn't kill us."
Stacy scoffed. "He can't."
"He can and he will, if we aren't more careful."
"Next time we plan stuff like this, well do it in a more secluded place, where he won't find us." Stacy told him.
"How do we get ourselves away from this ropes. They made it too tight and my leg hurt so bad"
" Let's try to help each other, you'll loose mine and I'll loose yours. yours will be hard though. Since they're tied together."
"Arrrrggggghh....I swear when I get my hands on those two.....I'll make sure I kill them with my bear hands"
"That's what we've been saying for a long time now. And we haven't even managed on killing Sophie talk less of Marcus"
Brian sent her a dry, hard look and looked away again.
"They're just proving to be a lot smarter than we are. But soon enough, soon, I'll get my hand on them" he said.
"And we'll dance to victory" She finished for him. Smiling slyly.
