The [Explorer Permit]

"well, well, well. Look who we have here, if it isn't the Guild leader of 'Radiant Light', Stan, the very same person who holds the title of [Light bringer]. What brings a fine figure such as yourself to this humble abode?''

While slow clapping Chen Mo confronts Stan. With a amical smile on his face that would make people think he is an innocent boy. But the only thing going through Chen Mo's mind is very dark, 'You're lucky to be protected here by the laws of the Darwins Kingdom Stan, otherwise I would have cut your throat a long time ago you piece of shit'.

Still, Chen Mo wasn't planning to show his true desires outwardly tough.

Seeing that amical smile on Chen Mo's Face, as if they are bosom friends reuniting after a long time, made Stan furious. Stan was well aware that Chen Mo was faking his innocent look, they have been enemies since pretty much the first time they encountered each other!

As he was clenching his fists tightly together, he took a deep breath to help him calm down. Being aware of what happened to him, Stan silently reminded himself, "Don't Let him get to you Stan, this is all part of Chen Mo's plan to make riled up."

"Young master Chen is speaking to you commoner, show Some respect!"

Because of Stan's lacking reaction, a Guild member of 'Seekers of Dao' decided to but in and make him react.

Stan didn't being called a commoner, as if he was a lower kind of being. Yet Stan still decided to reply back to Chen Mo with a monotone voice, "I know it was you who stole my cowgale meat stick Chen."

As Stan was speaking, he glared at the lackey pretending Guild member of Chen Mo who called out to him.

Seeing an opportunity present itself to get in the good books of the young master. The ´lackey´ who was being glared at by Stan, decided to speak up while slowly unsheathing his sword of its scabbard, "How presumptuous of you, daring to accuse and slander a noble figure such as young master Chen!"

"Hold on Greg, I'm certain that Stan didn't mean it like that. After all, falsely accusing a Noble person is against the law in the Darwins Kingdom. There has to be a misunderstanding somewhere, right Stan?"

Although Chen Mo said all that, the smirk on his face tells how pleased he was with Greg's actions. he didn't even reprehend Greg for his actions. That alone says enough that he supports Greg's way of handling.

And Greg, the knowledgeable bootlicker that he is, made sure to stop swinging his sword toward Stan. A fearfull feeling of being reprimanded by Chen Mo started to rise inside Greg's body, but when he sees Chen Mo's smirking face, Greg knew he made the right decision as he told so in his mind, 'Heh, I'm sure young master Chen will reward me for this later.'

Stan, as the one being targeted by Greg, wasn't all to happy with how Chen Mo handled everything and decided to say something about it, "Chen Mo your dogs keep bothering me, you should really learn to tie them on a leash. I guess they take after their owner, don't they?"

A condemning smile crept up as Stan saw how Chen Mo looked when he said this.

Listening to what Stan said, Greg's smiling face started turning ugly when he was being called a dog. Tough he wasn't the only one who was displeased. Chen Mo wasn't happy either, but he had a plan, so he was aware that he couldn't act rashly.

Thus Chen Mo answered with a forced smile, "I'm sorry if my subordinate and pet caused you trouble Stan. To compensate you, I'm willing to sell you an [explorer permit] to a newly discovered island that was given to my father for his contribution to the Kingdom."

This was Strange. 'Why would Chen Mo sell me a [Explorer Permit] who's valuable is immeasurable compared to a cowgale meat stick?' Thinking like that, it sounded ridiculous to Stan.

that isn't without reason because an [Explorer Permit] gives you the rights to enter and explore an island that is being managed by the Darwins Kingdom.

The Royal family of the Darwins Kingdom is the only one capable of handing out an [Explorer Permit] that is recognized by the system as a real item. It's too bad that the Royal family mostly gives them to people of higher society, the nobles.

There are no downsides to buying it, for an [Explorer Permit] is Rarely given out in the first place. That's not because the Royal family won't give them away.

It's because most adventurers are not stupid enough to report the discovery of an new island to the authorities, for a measly findings fee that is awarded after the discovering of a new island.

No, they will most likely explore the island themselves for its riches rather than handing everything over to the authorities, so the Royal family can give am [Explorer Permit] to a noble.

Stan was already aware of this, so his brain started working in overdrive as he started thinking about the [Explorer permit] of Chen Mo while rubbing his chin,

'I'm sure Chen Mo got this [Explorer Permit] from his father, Count Chen Wei. The problem is, why would Chen Mo decide to sell an [Explorer Permit]? That too, as compensation for a cowgale meat stick from a food stall with a worth of 20 coppers. Which is far below an [Explorer Permit], so Chen Mo must be up to something!'

When Stan reached this point, he started to look at Chen Mo dubiously as he said, "what's the catch Chen Mo. I'm sure you wouldn't do this out of the goodness of your hart and a cowgale meat stick isn't worth an [Explorer Permit] even for a price, so what is in it for you?"

'Tch, why does this piece of shit make things more difficult than needed' is what Chen Mo thought, but didn't say out loud, "I want 50% of everything you earn from the Island. I'll also include the payment for the [Explorer Permit] with that."

'50% is a good deal if the price for the [Explorer Permit] is included, but something is still missing' Stan still had a suspicion he voiced out, "Why can't you explore the island yourself?" this is what concerned Stan, why would Chen Mo, a greedy pig, split the rewards?

"Recently, my 'Seekers of Dao' Guild accept an mission from the Darwins kingdom to fight against the Shozar Empire in the war. Though my father, the Count of Larnwick, gave me an [Explorer Permit] to a newly discovered island. My Guild unfortunately, does not have the necessary manpower for an expedition because of the war with the Shozar Empire."

After hearing what Chen Mo said, Stan to started seriously considering whether he should take the offer or not, 'Maybe I should just do it. The Guild funds are running dry, but that is also the fault of Chen Mo's father, Chen Wei'.

Chen Wei, the Count of Larnwick, is a man who would do anything to gain power. So when his son decided to start a Guild of his own. He became the backer of that Guild and made sure it was going to be the best Guild in Larnwick.

In order to achieve that, Chen Wei does his best to make trouble for other Guilds that exist in Larnwick. Because of that the 'Radiant Light' Guild of Stan and other Guilds in Larnwick are struggling to survive.

"What about your father, Count Chen. Won't he take actions against me?" Stan was well aware that Chen Wei is constantly causing trouble for the Guild. So it is possible that he will do something to make things difficult for him once more.
