Chapter 37: Talin’s only childhood friends

As Orinia and her kids entered their house, Orinia was taken by agony as she opened the door realizing she doesn't have no one to rely on starting from that night.

She trembles whenever she remembers from the hits she was receiving from her lost husband. She was always told that it was her fault. But somehow that victim blaming made sense. It's her fault she tolerated Jose from continuously hitting her.

There was constant roaring in her ears when Jose hit her a bit too hard with a bottle. It hurted her a lot. That time bees were swirling inside her head. Big fat bees. Her lost husband would always aim for her head or her back.

Sleeping outside on a cold night was also no fun. That was her constant punishment aside from Jose's physical abuse.

This time she remembered the only man who truly loved her and the man who never swore or hitted her once, Benedicto. But she was a fool; she let him go and died without telling him how much she loved him.
