Zhulong vs. Lanbo

The beginning of the broadcast was in Mandarin. So, she had no idea what they were talking about. Dylan refused to translate because Mandarin wasn't something he knew perfectly.

He said he could make small talk, some business things. But he wasn't good enough to translate. But Lili somehow got it. They were talking about each team.

Zhu long. YiZhe, the healer, was in the back together with MoSHU, the magician. In front of them was SIG, the gunner, Then Doom, the swordmaster, and in front of them all was KT, the guardian. HNYG, the assassin, was on the side as the substitute. That was the layout they were trying out for a long time.

The other team, Lan bo, Blue Wave, were last year's Championship runners-up. On the screen, they showed their team. Brawler and assassin, front positions. Magician, summoner, and gunner back. On the side, the healer. It was a typical formation.

Lili heard the word secret and knew they were describing a weapon. More precisely, Doom's weapon. She was proud of him. He became like one with his weapon. He spent so much time leveling it up and getting to know each of its secrets.

On the other hand, poor YiZhe had three minutes to see what his staff could make. Lili felt bad because of it, but she had no choice. They needed better staff for the thing they planned to do.

Both teams sat on the stage and the cameraman showed a glimpse of nervous dragons with poker-faced Lei, then a shot of a pretty confident team Wave…

It was really obvious who was the favorite. Dragons were nowhere near it. Everyone was surprised by how they got so far as newcomers.

They were saying it was because of the secret-level weapon that helped them. Yeah, that was partially true. But She had to say, they were hardworking. Every one of them. They played, worked out, and ate all day long, then slept, and the next day the same thing, again.

Lili knew she was the only distraction they had. That's why they love to play with her so much. Because even in the game, everyone was staying meters away from them. They were the unreachable gods. And she belonged among them.

The countdown from ten started, and Lili got nervous.

"Calm down. You look ready to jump out of your skin at any moment. You did what you could. Rest is up to them," Dylan said, and Lili knew he was right. She just couldn't help but feel responsible.

After the countdown reached one, the vast plains showed up. They were teleported in the middle of the map before the countdown, and they had these ten seconds to get into positions without seeing the opposite team.

Lili hated plains. There was nothing to get behind and hide. A nightmare for long-ranged players. She saw KT do what he was supposed to.

He taunted the front close-range assassin and brawler; they were unable to escape him. The second he did that, Doom jumped them over and killed the enemy magician with one slash.

"That was so effing cool," Lili said, surprised, and Dylan just nodded.

"Now I know why he is the captain. He is quick and precise. Nice work."

Meanwhile, SIG was shooting at the brawler. He killed him, but both of the fronts managed to kill our guardian first.

Subbing players were already running towards this big massacre game, and Lili heard the crowd loving it.

The enemy assassin ran towards the SIG who was dealing with the summoned beast, and HYNG was sprinting towards the enemy summoner.

Both of them got the first attack. Both assassins were good. They couldn't be seen on the map, and they were randomly and stealthily dealing damage.

The enemy summoner was killed by Doom the same minute as SIG by the assassin's slash.

Dragons were four, and Wave was down to three people. Healers were doing what they could. YiZhe had better equipment, so his healing was faster.

Till now healers went relatively unnoticed, but Lanbo's assassin changed his interest from Doom, who was still with full HP, to the healer. He knew that with this healer they had no chance to take down Doom or even MoSHU.

Lili saw one quick shot on Hongjie's hands and she knew they were fucked up. The staff she made was god-level. Almost the same as hers. So, she knew it pretty well and knew what sequence he was doing. The damage dealing skill.

"No, don't," she screamed out. But it was too late. YiZhe started.

He collected the damage he was getting from the assassin. He probably thought it was a healing spell, so he covered the whole team. Everyone had less than forty percent HP left. He released the spell. And poisoned his own team.

Losing dialog popped up on the dragons' side and everybody was shocked… Except for Lili.

"Well, he messed that up," Dylan said, and Lili sat back on the couch. The screen showed shocked faces. And poor Hongjie looked like crying at any moment.

"That was such bad luck. I would have sent a message saying what is what if I knew it came up to god-level," Lili said and got up again. He had to get some food. She was too nervous to eat before, yet it was time to eat long ago.

"They lost because of me…" She was heading upstairs and Dylan was following her.

"Nah, they lost because of the hacker. Without him, they would get well acquainted with their weapon…" He stopped by the table and sat on it. Meanwhile, Lili continued to the fridge and took out some takeout they had left in there.

"How could he confuse poison with healing?" Dylan was confused.

"Well. When you first equip the staff, its skills will get automatically on your toolbar and you have to customize which skills you want there and which not. And I think it's a little trap by admins. Because these two are next to each other and both are green. Poison just has a little bottle in there and one chain skill less." Dylan was nodding.

"So, he confused them because he wasn't used to this staff and didn't tidy up his toolbar?"

"Basically, yes. That's what pisses me off the most. If I knew, I would tell him what to do first."

"That's terrible luck there. I wonder who you pissed off to get revenge like that." Lili thought about it too.

"I honestly have no idea. I wasn't playing a lot until a few months ago and never was part of the gaming community. And nobody cared about me." Lili ran her hand through her hair. She had to find out who the heck did it.
