Catching up

After the opening ceremony act and the drawing of opponents, Lili and Lei ended up with Lucy again, as agreed. Honestly, Lili was surprised that Lei went with them. She thought he would stay with the team. But he said Lucy was the lesser evil and stood behind Lili, air-headed, only his hand on his waist, showing he was still there.

"I'm going to strangle him. I really think I will do it soon," Lucy whined and Lili amusedly chuckled. It was right after something that looked like an argument with Seonghwa. Interesting was that no other group member had entered the argument and just bemusedly stood next to them, grinning.

"I think you need to explain to me what actually happened to you. I know you hate this type of work. So why do you do it?" Lucy nodded, agreeing with everything Lili said. Glad that none of the guys knew Czech, she switched the language.

They walked out of the hotel hall and waited by the backdoors for the car Lei had called in. It was again a nice car with a private driver.

"What do you want to do?" Lei asked. It was a question, especially to Lili, who looked tired. But Lucy, who stood in front of them, answered him.

"We were just going to do some shopping." Lili was surprised when Lucy asked. That was a totally weird moment. Usually, she would be all for Lei staying in the hotel.

Her gaze then stayed on Lucy, trying to burn a hole into her back. Lili hated shopping with the most burning passion she didn't even have for gaming.

Usually, her shopping would be done over the internet. And when she wasn't in the mood, there was no chance he would stagger into the shopping mall. Except for when Lucy dragged her there. Like today.

Thankfully, in the middle of the shopping spree, Lucy's energy ran out, even though all the bags were carried by Lei. That was why she wanted him going, by the way. And they sat down to have Starbucks.

"You like it?" Lei asked, a bit confused, but Lucy nodded eagerly.

"What else do you want? You can have the coffee however you like. For example, me, I run completely on sugar. So I have four more caramel sprinkles there and I'm as energetic as before." Lucy explained and sipped the iced frappuccino that would instantly kill Lili because of sweetness. And smiled happily.

Lili yawned again. It was already getting late. The opening ceremony was the gala evening, the games would start tomorrow. And Lucy's spree was just too exhausting for Lili. She was probably a koala in her past life. Because she wanted to sleep so much it could be explained only by that.

"We should go. We all need to sleep," Lei said. It surprised Lili so much that she jerked herself when he hugged her from behind. But he only chuckled and kept hugging.

"Now, I feel lonely seeing you two…" Lucy whined, but because of that, Lili suddenly remembered something.

"What about Seonghwa and C-LAND?" she asked, and nudged Lucy. But Lucy only made a disgusted face.

"I prefer Haku, he is cuter. Why couldn't I be stuck translating for him? That would be a blessing for me…" She sighed and slurped some more coffee while standing up. Lili had to laugh at that attitude.

When they walked, she quickly summarized what had happened. And Lili was actually laughing so hard. It was obvious that Lucy was trying really hard to avoid Seonghwa, but he wanted her otherwise.

They all said goodbye as they gave a lift to Lucy, who lived in a different place than them. And then went back to the hotel where Lili and Lei were with the rest of the team.

She was exhausted. On the way back, Lili found herself falling on Lei's shoulder, falling asleep. But as soon as she took a shower and laid in the bed, it was as if her brain decided it was time or rave, again.

Lei was on a call with the Long co. secretary and talked about some documents, so the only thing Lili thought of doing was to pick her laptop and log into the game.

She went through the equipment of the team and noticed how bad some of it was. Heck, Wuchen still had only premium-level headgear.

Lili grabbed a pen and paper and made a list of what needed to be done and replaced so that everyone could play in their best. And when she finished. It was a lot.

How come she never noticed how bad their equipment was? Their in-game play was horrible. Thankfully, Dylan and Lei managed the guild and its storage. Because it would be a disaster if they were the ones to do it.

"I need you to get some ingredients," Lili said, and showed a list she made to Lei. She went over the inventory she had, the guild had, and made other lists of items needed for what equipment she had in mind.

"Some of them are for accessories and armor…" Lei noted and Lili nodded.

"I will take Lucy's character. She is a jeweler. She has been playing with me or alone when she was bored. For armor, I will take Chao's. But I think I need to write to him or call him because I forgot his password." Lei finally understood why she was so good at this when he looked at her notes. The English letters were so nice to look at, but other than that. It was a perfectly organized list of ingredients sorted by the equipment and then the level. Every ingredient had where it was found or which people were selling it.

"I'm on it, but we will go and sleep early. I don't care that you won't finish it all. We will go to sleep early," he threatened her, but Lili just laughed and, still grinning, she nodded and hugged him.
