Heaven’s Downfall

Above the clouds and into space existed a separate dimension that watches over the Earth. It was called Heaven, in Heaven lived tens of thousands of beings called Angels. All of the angels lived in one giant land mass that was governed and ruled by the almighty God.

In a small town in Heaven known as Yare lived a family of angels. The mother known as Grace, the father known as Josel, and their son who is named Evan.

They lived in a small wooden house that Josel's great grandparents built and their lineage have lived in this house since. It was a nice home, everything was needed such as a fireplace, water, beds, clothing, and any other things.

"Mom, do you think I will make it?"

"Of course you will dear!"

The boy who was turning to a man, Evan, was looking upon his newly acquired letter from the Academy of Heaven. The Academy of Heaven or AOH for short was the only way of angels to become a soldier for God. The most talented soldiers are given wings when they are acknowledged by God himself and that is one of the greatest ways of becoming what was called a "True Angel"

Evan trained for the last seventeen years of his life to be accepted to the Academy of Heaven. Why seventeen? It was because his parents have just now been able to pay for his application to join. He would have been scouted easily if their family lived in a city but they've been stubborn for as long as they could remember.

Taking the envelope to his room in their house he quickly shut the door and sat on his bed. The walls of his room had posters of the Seraphim known as Michael and he was one of the strongest angels in Heaven and was Evan's favorite among them.

Evan held the envelope in his hands and while shakily holding it he opened it. There a golden letter written by the head of the Academy Throne ranked Aranel was shown.

"Dear Evan Azazel, we have recorded your efforts and have seen the visual memories that have been recorded. We here at the Academy of Heaven will sadly tell you that you are unfit to join here. We are very sorry for the inconvenience"

"W...what?"

Tears began to stream down the young angels face as he read the letter over and over again.

"The most talented Angel we have seen thus far?" Second head of the Academy Zane asked the board of directors.

"He is" A deep booming voice was resounded as the head of the academy voiced his opinion.

"Why must we reject another prodigy that will be among likes of Michael and Gabriel?" One of the six board of directors asked the head.

The head of the academy Aranel, had a bald head and a set of six wings on his back. His elegant robe glistened in the bright room where their meeting was held. His right arm was brought up and snapped his fingers.

"Barrier VII"

A clear barrier that blocked out all sorts of investigation and intrusion spells and tools was generated by Aranel.

The board of directors all had a frightened face as this was the highest barrier spell known to all angels.

Aranel had a solemn yet serious expression now.

"God ordered it"

A week after receiving the letter from the Academy, Evan was in the forest that neared the edge of the land of Heaven.

The forest had strange creatures that were never seen on the other dimensions that he had learned of in the past. Sitting against a tree stump that had green lines glowing through the cracks he looked up at the sky.

"Is there anything above heaven?" A question he had always asked himself was brought up.

"Underneath of here is Earth where the humans live and underneath there...is where the demons live"

"So there must be something above us or below Hell"

Mumbling to himself as he was still depressed about not making it into the academy despite his best efforts.

'No matter... I will evolve myself then'

An angel can evolve once it has gained enlightenment, there are two ways to gain enlightenment. The first way is to achieve great things in the academy and be enlightened by one of the directors. The other way was to be enlightening yourself. Nobody even bothers to be enlightened by themselves because its believed to be impossible and that only the directors can enlighten. If an evolved angel enlightens an unevolved angel they will receive punishment by an Dominion ranked or above.

Evan stood up from the grass beneath him and held his hand out and moved his fingers to be in a holding position. He then told his mana core to start moving mana to his hand.

"Mace II"

A golden stick started to be formed out of his mana and at the end of the stick a large ball with spikes formed.

He stood and ran towards the tree that was in front of him. He swung the mace and hit the tree causing a loud boom in the once quiet forest.

He told his mana core to then stop and once it did the golden mace evaporated into the sky. Turning around to go home was the scene of tons of trees busted at the middle and the trunk that was cut off was then pulverized into dust.

Walking through the wasteland of the once large forest he sensed something off. Telling his mana what to do he turned around once again and held his hand forward.

"Beam I"

A compact beam of light shot out of his hand and punctured a creature with crimson skin.

Walking over to the strange looking creature he was shocked to see what it was. It was what parents would tell their young about if they didn't do as their told.

"No....how?"

It was a devil, one of the lowest ranked demons in Hell. The last sighting of one was well over a hundred thousand years ago and when that happened...the Great War was to start.

He ran, his emotions going haywire as many possibilities went through his mind. "Don't die... Seraphim's save us please!"

Evan was getting closer and closer to the little village that he and his parents lived in. He smelt something that was only in one spot in his house but on a much larger scale.

After going through a valley he saw it, hundreds of demons mowing down his house along with more of his neighbors being slaughtered by higher ranked devils.

His mind froze at the sight of his village being demolished, his parents must have died in the attack.

Tears began to fall like rain drops down his face as he remembers his many memories with his mother and father. Eating their great food that he loved and them teaching him multiple spells.

But now was not the time to cry because he soon noticed that tons of devils were looking at him with raging eyes.

"Shit.."

He put his arm out and casted four level 1 beams of light and that pierced their heads as they died on the spot. But as the devils died that caused even more devils to look his way.

'Dammit!'

'Oh right!'

He rushed back to the valley and entered one of his many hideouts that he and his father built back when he was a child. The hideout was quite large because his father was a Tier 3 earth angel.

Shutting the hardened dirt hatch that disguised the hideout from outside he soon ran and hid himself in a corner.

"RETREAT! HIDE YOUR CHILDREN!"

Angel soldiers who had four wings on their backs were fighting the enormous invasion of Hell in Heaven.

"RRAAAAAAA"

*BOOOOM*

A loud boom came from a hellish creature that was only represented in picture books. It was a massive bipedal demon that had goat legs, a human torso, and a skeletal goat head.

"I see, its a Tier III Hellbeast"

A man clad in white armor that radiated pure power was floating in the sky watching the rampaging beast from hell.

His golden hair fluttered in the wind, suddenly a rip was heard and there was nine wings on his back.

"Holy God bring me power! Holy Blade IX!"

*VVVVVV*

The mana from the archangel flowed into his hand and produced a saber made out of pure golden energy. In just a blink of an eye he was at the ground floor and had already slain the Hellbeast.

His almost perfect face was known throughout the whole entirety of Heaven and if you didn't know his face then you lived on the outskirts of Heaven like Evan. The only imperfection on him was a scar on his cheek which he said "meant that nobody but God is perfect"

He was Seraphim Gabriel, one of the top three strongest angels in the heavens. However nobody had the time to realize that Gabriel had saved them as four more Hellbeasts rampaged the city once again.

"It seems coordinated..."

"Eyes of Truth VI"

Gabriels vision expanded and showed him things not anybody can see. His vision quickly targeted the being that was coordinating the attacks. Yet again with another blink of an eye he was in front of the Demon who was responsible for this unforgivable sin.

The demon was stunned that he was found out this quickly and tried to cast a spell but was quickly beheaded in an instant by Gabriel.

Gabriel now soaked in the blood of demons felt danger coming from further away. The sight was the first time Gabriel had ever gotten frightened.

The Devil had come herself
