43. Adeline Drank His Blood

****

Even when Reuven offered Adeline his own blood, Adeline resisted him and pushed him away instantly before she asked for an animal's blood.

But there were no animals around and no wolf was trying to help her get it.

Reuven knew at this moment that if he tried his best to hunt down an animal for her, she might die before he could have gotten one. He knew that the only thing she could do if she cherished to survive at this gravely time was that she must suck his blood.

Suddenly, Adeline puked blood from her mouth and her eyes. Her skin colour transformed into a dark mummy and she looked like nothing more than a preserved animal whose organs were removed. Still, she resisted Reuven's offer.

This has not taken long because at this moment, Reuven slit his wrist with his claws and his blood streamed out.

The strong aroma of his blood, Adeline can no longer resist as she grabbed Reueven's hand and she stung her fang into his wrist and began to suck his blood hastily.

When she was sucking his blood, she continued to make horrible sounds and move her head in a strange way like a hungry dog.

This did not mean she did not smell the werewolves rising up against her again, and she quickly looked at them and frowned at them and emitted a blasting noise which revealed her bloody fangs.

Each wolf seeing this remained in their position to see what she was about to do. If she dared an attack against them, they were ready and they would not resist stinging their fang into her skin.

Luka was the king of wolves in battle, he was yet the last to rise from his fall and at this moment, he began to pace around slowly as he remained to stare at the bloodsucker.

Even when Adeline did not move an inch, she was cognizant of what the wolves intended and as blood was dripping from her mouth to the ground, she dug her head towards Reuven's wrist again and continued to suck his blood in a rush.

Reuven did not feel any pain nor become infested as a vampire because of this. He was a wolf and he felt nothing but the coldness of her teeth.

If Reuven felt she had enough and tried to withdraw his wrist from her mouth, he could not, and at this moment, Adeline roared at him and dug back her head into Reuven's wrist and sucked more blood.

Suddenly when her eyes transformed back to their normal state, and she became aware that she broke her own rules, she immediately felt nervous and rushed away from Reuven.

She continued to breathe heavily. But this did not mean Rueven rebuked her for her actions. He only walked closer to her and rolled down his coat to cover his bruised wrist.

In no time, Reuven's wrist was already beginning to heal itself and Reuven felt it when the wound closed up.

"I could have killed you," Adeline uttered, still frozen as the result of her nervousness.

"But you did not." He answered looking straight into her eyes.

"It is never my intention to hurt you or any of your wolves." She assured Rueven

"I know" Reuven affirmed as he held her tightly by her hand.

At this time, Rueven stood up and looked back at his pack. He walked closer to them and especially more toward Luka.

"You see? She meant no harm to us. She is just another one who wants to take down our tormentor. And either as a witch or as a vampire, we accept her both." Reuven addressed.

Every one of the pack as they saw what happened agreed with Reuven but not Luka who still looked dangerously at Adeline.

To him, she was ambitious and must have a motive. "You might have fooled everyone but you cannot fool me," he said in his mind in the hope that the witch heard him loud and clear since she was the goddess who could hear anyone's thoughts.

'Luka!" Reuven called, seeing the expression on his face.

"Your wish is my command." He answered slowly and he left the base into the greenery.

As Reuven was yet carried away by watching Luka leave the base to go into the greenery, Adeline pulled him closer:

"Forget the turns and target the originals," Adeline said.

"Attacking the turns is pointless. Because they will only keep increasing in numbers as they will not stop infecting new ones every sunset." She said again after a quick deep breath.

Yet Reuven did not say a word. No matter how her words made a lot of sense, it was the most dangerous and impossible thing to achieve. To attack the north and directly the coven was a suicide mission which Reuven was assured of. And if it were that simple, he would have done it a long time ago.

But even when Reuven was still thinking about what the bloodsucker told him, Adeline interrupted his thought.

"You do not have to think too much. But you are right. It is dangerous." She said,

"If we work together, it is achievable and with what I can do, they can't be any match for us. All we have to do is wait for the right time to strike." She declared in a low tone.

This Reuven was happy to hear. But if that was all, it was a lie.

"There is more." She emitted.

"The most powerful is not the elders, but the one in the sleeping basket." She noted.

Reuven's eyes shone in surprise. He did not know about a sleeping basket or any vampire who could be asleep in there which led to his curiosity until he was interrupted again by Adeline.

"My uncle. He was made to keep sleeping in the sleeping basket by my father because he rebelled against him." She explained.
