CHAP 23 (Mama)

"Mama!" 3 years old Lux yelled out.

Lux and his mother were in the town garden, it was as green as ever. The grass was soft, the flowers were blooming, and the smell of fresh air was there too.

Young Lux was picking up some flowers and ran to his mom to give it to her.

"Aww," Lily said as she put her hand on her heart as her son gave her a flower. "Thank you sweetheart,"

Young Lux chuckled, he wobbled to his mother and sat on her lap.

"Mama," Lux called out.

"Yes dear?" Lily said.

"I loff yew!" Lux said and he chuckled.

[I love you!]

Lily chuckled with Lux, "I loove you too!" She hugged him.

The king was there with them, but sitting on a bench with another woman in the park watching them.

The king had married Lily for love, but after Lily got pregnant with Lux, she had gotten a bit chubbier and the king disliked it. He soon found another woman, young and beautiful with long red hair.

The two young women got along well together, sharing a husband, even though the king is loving the new mistress more now. But the mistress and the queen know that the next heir to the throne will be Lux.

Soon, the mistress and the king got married. The mistress had 2 children, Mateo and Martha. Even with the big age gap Lux and Mateo have with Martha they still loved her. After the mistress had given birth to Martha, the king and her went for a long holiday. Without bringing Lily.

Even though she wasn't invited, she was happy staying with the kids. 2 weeks later, the king had returned with the mistress. The mistress fell ill, the doctor said she was just sick, nothing worse. Day by day, the mistress got better and was active again. But she soon fell ill again.

The doctor checked, she was poisoned from a water hemlock and died a month later. Her last words to the king and queen were to make Lux the heir to the throne. When the king heard those words, he thought of Lily using his mistress to make her own son king.

He was in rage because of this. "You poisoned her just so you could get Lux to be the next heir, right?!"

"No!" Lily fought back, "She was poisoned from water hemlocks, the doctor said it himself!"

"Don't think I am not smart enough to think you paid the doctor to say it was water hemlocks!"

They were fighting back and forth, the throne room was full of echoes from their screamings and Lux had to listen to all of it.

"I have enough of this," the king said. "GUARDS!"

The guards came in, "Take this woman away from execution!" The king said.

Lux heard this and stopped the guards, "Wait! THIS HAS TO BE A MISTAKE!" Azazel shouted.

"Take the queen to the executive with the crown prince, he will be watching this clearly."

The guards pulled their hair and tied their hands, they were walking slowly.

"MOM!" Azazel shouted.

"It's going to be alright, sweetheart!" The guard pulled the queen's hair and she let out a scream.

They were both thrown into the dungeon waiting for the next day to be executed.

"Mom!" Lux said, "Tell me this isn't happening! Tell me!"

The queen hugged her son, "Oh my boy, it's going to be alright." She said.

Lux was crying in her arms, Lily looked at him. "You're such a big boy now, and you're crying."

"Mom, don't you understand? You're going to get executed!" He shouted horrifyingly.

"I know sweetheart, but i can't do anything about it," she patted his head. "I was bound to leave one day, but I never thought it would be this early."

"But what would I do?" Lux was crying and trembling.

"You are just going to live without me for a while, and when your time comes you will come and meet me again."

Lux was crying loudly, and the queen had a tear falling from her face.

The day of the execution was here, early morning everyone gathered to see who had done an evil thing to get executed. When the executor showed the face of the person who was getting executed, it immediately shocked everyone. Lux was then brought out, he was forced to stand in front of his mother to see the view of her getting executed.

The queen's eyes were red, tears were falling but no emotion laid on her face.

Lux was shackled to the ground, he couldn't run to save his mother. He couldn't do anything but shout. "MUM! NO!" He kept pulling on shackles, hopefully getting out in time.

The queen was kneeling and the executor held his axe high.

"Be brave Lux," those were her last words before her head got chopped off.

"MUM!" Lux shouted, but it was already too late.

Her blood splattered onto Lux's face, a tear had fallen from his face. There was his mother, flying into the sky to meet Yawu, our Goddess.

"W@(× U]!!" A voice shouted.

"L>' WAKE UP!" It was almost clear now, a white light was shining onto his eyes.

"LUX WAKE UP!" Lux finally heard clearly.

Ciaran was shouting at him, "Lux! Wake up!"

Lux opened his eyes widely, his blindfold was taken off by Ciaran. When Ciaran saw Lux was awake, he hugged him tightly.

"Oh my days!" Ciaran cried out. "You are alive!"

Lux was confused, what does he mean by 'You are alive!' ?

Ciaran let go of Lux and kissed him on the lips, "I was so worried!"

"Wait," Lux stopped. "Can we rewind what was happening?"

"You started crying all of a sudden, you were crying so hard. I tried to wake you up, and you stopped breathing."

Lux sat up, "What time is it?"

"3.15 am." Ciaran answered. "I started praying for Yawu for you to be alive right now. And now..." Ciaran hugged Lux again.

Lux patted Ciaran's back, "I'm here, I'm here."

"What were you crying about?" Ciaran asked.

"My mother," Lux replied. "Do you want me to tell it now or in the morning?"

"Now," Ciaran said. "Alright..." Lux said and explained the entire story to him.

At 4am, the clock ticked.

"Wow," Ciaran said, surprised. He hugged Lux again. "I'm sorry you had to see that."

"The past is the past, and I can do nothing about it." Lux smiled. "But hey, if that didn't happen I couldn't have met you."

Ciaran smiled, Lux smiled back. Ciaran gave many little kisses on Lux's face. "Mak ya'ive ku."

"What?" Lux asked.

"I love you." Ciaran replied.

"I love you too."
