Study Date and Secrets

It's been a week since Charlotte and I got scolded by our friends about us being too loud.

I'm still embarrassed by it but I try not to think about it.

Last night I went to bed a little too late and now I'm regretting it.

"Aspen, get up" Charlotte says with an annoyed tone as I grab a pillow and place it over my head

She's been trying to get me up for seven minutes but I'm too tired to get up.

"Aspen Marie Bailey" she scolds in a demanding tone

I peek up at her from under the pillow only to notice that she's already dressed.

She's wearing a black tee with ripped black skinny jeans and black converse. She paired that with a black baseball cap and a silver necklace.

She looks hot.

But when doesn't she.

"Aspen," she says with an annoyed tone

"Aspen," she scolds again

"You're not even listening to me!" She says as she stands up and places her hands on her hips

I honestly don't know why she's so stressed.

She's been like this since last night.

I sit up from the bed which exposes my naked upper body.

We may or may not have gotten a little carried away before we went to sleep.

I don't cover my upper body since it's nothing she hasn't seen before.

I grab her wrist and pull her down on the bed before climbing onto her. I straddle her and place my hands on her cheeks.

"Relax, babe, you've been stressed since last night" I say as I gently caress her cheeks

"I'm sorry, I'm just busy with a lot of things and now I have to add school onto that pile" she says as she sits up and wraps her arms around my waist

"Take a break from school, Kayden and I will go" I suggest

"No, I don't feel comfortable leaving you at school with all those perverts" she says with a shiver of disgust

I laugh at her and give her a peck before standing up and walking towards her bathroom.

As soon as I turn away from Charlotte she slaps my ass, hard.

I gasp as I turn to face her smirking face.

"What?! It was tempting" she says with a shrug before standing up and walking towards her closet

"When you're done you can pick anything you want from my closet" she says since we still need to get my clothes from my house

"Okay" I say as I walk into the bathroom and close the door behind me.

-

After I'm finished in the bathroom I walking into Charlotte's closet and put on the first outfit that I see.

I'm wearing a black lace bra that's covered by a silk navy blue tank top. I paired that with black skinny jeans and a black pair of high top converse.

I brushed out my wavy hair before putting on one of her leather jackets.

I grab my phone and check the time only for my eyes to widen.

"Shit, I'm late" I say as I stuff my phone in the jacket pocket and run downstairs

I walk into the kitchen and see Charlotte casually sitting at the counter eating an apple.

"What are you doing? We're going to be late" I say which causes her to snap her head towards me

She blatantly checks me out which makes her jaw go slack.

"Wow," she says finally

"You should wear my clothes more often" she says as she walks up to me and wraps her arms around my waist

I don't have time for this.

"Charlotte, If we don't leave now we'll be late" I say to her slowly

"Actually we have eight minutes," she says

"I live closer to the school than you, remember?" She continued

Oh, right!

I forgot.

"Yeah, sorry, I forgot" I say

"It's okay, babe, we all make mistakes" she says with a smile before placing a kiss on my cheek

The both of us walk to the barstools and eat breakfast before we have to grab the others and head off to school.

-

We walk into school hand in hand.

It was mainly Charlotte's doing since she doesn't want anyone hitting on me.

I laughed at her ridiculous statement.

Of course as usual people start to gossip when they notice us holding hands.

Do they not have anything better to do?

I just want to enjoy my girlfriends presence in peace.

"You guys barely walked into the school and everyone is already talking about you guys" Kayden comments with a smirk as Charlotte and I walk into first period

Since it's the new semester, we have different classes.

I have three periods with Charlotte.

First, second, and third.

And two with Kayden.

First and Fourth.

"Ugh, I see enough of you at home" Charlotte comments in annoyance

School puts her in a bad mood in general, so adding school onto her already brewing stress really isn't a good idea.

"Ouch, babe, did you hear that?" Kayden asks Carolina

He's facetiming her?

They literally left each other three minutes ago.

I don't comment on it I just sit down in the chair beside Charlotte and converse with her until class starts.

-

I practically rush out of second period so that I can be the first in line for lunch.

I don't care if anyone is looking at me weirdly.

I've been starving for over an hour!

I quickly glance at the menu and notice that they're serving the option of pizza or nachos.

As soon as I get my food I walk over to the booth where Charlotte and Kayden are talking to Carolina.

He's been facetiming her since first period.

I sit my tray down before sliding into the seat beside Charlotte.

I guess she wasn't satisfied because she somehow picks me up and places me across her lap.

I blush but continue to eat my pizza.

Charlotte and Kayden continue to converse with Carolina as I silently lean into Charlotte's warm embrace.

-

"I never want to go there again" Kayden says as he slides into the passenger seat of Carolina's SUV

"Aww, poor baby" She teases and kisses his cheek

Charlotte and I quickly slide into the backseat of the truck.

I want to hurry up and get out of here, I'm not used to this many people collectively gawking at me.

"Hey, babe, are you okay?" Charlotte asks as she gently places her hand over mine

"Yeah" I reply shakily as I move my hand and wrap them around her midsection before laying my head on her shoulder

She doesn't seem to mind as she wraps her arms around my waist and places a peck on my head.

As we depart from the school and pull onto the road Charlotte starts to play with my hair.

I can't tell if she's nervous or bored since I'm staring out the window.

"And to make matters worse, I have homework from every class" Kayden continues to rant

"No, really?!" Carolina responds with a sarcastic tone which makes Charlotte and I crack up

"Babe, I don't think you understand the importance of this" he tries to explain to her

Carolina rolls her eyes but doesn't respond to him.

-

We arrived at Charlotte's house three hours ago and I've been doing homework the whole time.

Charlotte finished all hers two hours ago.

Must be nice to have a working brain.

"I give up, I'm just going to drop out" I say with frustration as I flop back onto her pillows and tears start to well up in my eyes

Have you ever been so frustrated that tears just start to fall out of your eyes?

Because it happens to me every time I do homework.

Charlotte frowns at me when she sees that I'm about to cry.

She stands up from her floor, where she was sorting documents, and walks up to stand beside me.

When she reaches me she looks down a me with an adorably confused face.

Her long blonde hair was in a fan bun and her face was completely bare.

She looks like a figment if my imagination.

"Babe, this is simple algebra" she says as she continues to stare down at me

"I don't understand question six" I say as I bring my hand up to wipe my fallen tears away

"Okay, I'll help you" she says as she picks my laptop up and sets it on her lap

I sit up and lean my head on her shoulder since her scent soothes me.

The problem read,

-5a -2 +3a +4b +a -12 +6b +1 -a.

If I didn't know any better, I would've assumed that they just threw letters, numbers, and symbols together and called it an equation.

"Aspen, this is simple," she says as she hands me my laptop and grabs a piece of paper

"You take -5a,+3a,+a, -a and subtract it which would give you -2a" she explains as she lightly nibbles on her bottom lip which effectively distracts me

"Then you take -4b and +6b and subtract them from each other which would leave you 2b" she say and writes it down

"For the last one you take -2,-12,+1 and subtract them from each other which would give you 13" she finishes

She looks up at me and notices that I wasn't paying attention.

"Aspen, you're going to need to know this" she says with a serious tone

"I'm sorry, you're just such a great teacher that I got distracted" I say innocently

"Whatever, try to solve it" she says as she hands me my paper back, before walking away I see the light blush that's appearing on her cheeks

I quietly laugh at her flustered, retreating figure before actually attempting to solve the problem.

I stare at the problem for a couple of minutes and try to think of a possible answer.

"Is it -2a + 2b - 13" I ask her which makes her smile

"Yeah, you got it" she says proudly

I smile as I move on to number seven.

"Hey, I'll be back, I have to go talk to Carolina really quick" Charlotte suddenly says as she looks down at her phone

"Um, okay" I reply suspiciously since Carolina would usually just knock on Charlotte's door

Charlotte stands up and grabs her phone before sliding out of her room and running down the stairs.

She's acting weird.

I decide to ignore it and finish my homework.

-

I finish my homework fairly quickly but notice hat Charlotte hasn't came back.

I place my stuff on the bed and stand up before stretching my tight limbs.

I decide that I want a snack from the kitchen since I haven't eaten since we've arrived home.

I carefully step over Charlotte's piles of files and make my way towards the stairs. I quickly descend down the stair and towards the kitchen.

I stop outside the kitchen door as I hear voices inside.

I know that eavesdropping is bad but the voices sound eerily familiar.

"Just do it already!" Someone whisper shouts with an annoyed tone

"No" another person whisper shouts back

They sounded like Carolina and Charlotte.

"Why not?!" Carolina whispers with an impatient tone

"It's not the right time, we just got back together and I don't want to scare her away" Charlotte explains with a meaningful tone

Please tell me that she's talking about me.

If not not I'll beat her up.

Well, you know what I mean.

"No offense, but I'm pretty sure she wants you to propose to her too" Carolina says which causes my breathing to stop

Did she just say-?

Propose?!

I peek around the corner and see a navy blue jewelry box sitting on the middle of the counter.

Shit. Shit. Shit.

No.

I can't get married!

I'm only sixteen!

I haven't even graduated yet!

I'm basically still a child!

I don't listen to the rest of their conversation as I walk away from the door frame and slip on a random pair of converse.

I quietly open the door and slip out before closing it behind me.

The cold night air hits my bare arms which reminds me of the fact that I left her jacket upstairs.

I don't bother going back inside the house to get it as I continue my journey down the sidewalk.

I start to shiver from the twenty-two degree weather.

Goosebumps arise on my arms and my fingers start to tighten.

I feel my face redden from the cold air that's abusing it.

Yet all I can think of is Charlotte and Carolina's discussion.
