Nolan
"If you love me and care so much about me as you claim. You will come with me" that was the words she said and I found myself following her. "Nolan" Nigel called
I stopped. "Nigel, get more men. I will go with her. I can't let her get hurt" I answered
"Did you... I mean, you completed your mating..."
"Let's talk about this later. Just do as I say"
He nodded. "Be safe, brother"
"I will"
I left Nigel and ran after Olive. "Olive" I called. She stopped walking and turned. "I will go with you". She shrugged. "Do you have any plans?"
She sighed. "Stop being worried. If your mind is clear, I will be able to think well"
I nodded. "Ok"
"Can we go now?"
"Sure"
I wasn't sure if she knew where Salvador had gone to but I followed her anyway. "Are we going on foot?"
She nodded. "I saw him run past this place"
"What if he left already?"
"I know. I just need a few things. We might have to look for his new location again"
I furrowed my brows. I wanted to ask her more questions but I decided against it. We walked for a while, checking out every place. "Have you seen anything yet?" I asked
"I asked you not to worry. Your thoughts are clouding mine"
"Sorry. You should have learned to control that". She glared at me and I chuckled. "Just joking"
"It's not funny"
"Will I think it"
She frowned. "Can we focus now?"
I nodded. "Sure"
I watched her do her thing and when she suddenly screamed I was startled. "You startled me"
"Sorry"
"W-what's wrong?. Did you see anything?"
She nodded. "Look" she pointed at a bloodstain.
"Is that not blood stain?"
"Yeah. I think he is hurt. He hasn't gone far"
I bend down. "Are you sure this blood belongs to him?"
"Yeah. Or do you think it doesn't belong to him?"
I nodded. "It belongs to an animal"
"Huh?"
"It's the blood of an animal. Sniff it"
She groaned. "He pranked us?"
I nodded and stood up. "We should get back"
"No. We should not go back yet. I am sure we will get something to nail him"
"I don't think so"
"You can go back if you want to. Salvador can't go far. If we don't get him today. It might be different getting him"
I sighed. "Olive..." She stared at me and I sighed. "Ok. Let's go"
We kept walking and searching. Though she did more of the searching, I only followed her behind. Though I was worried Salvador might show up with some men, I tried to keep my mind off worries.
After a while, she pointed at something. "Look". She bend down to pick it up and opened it. She must have gotten something she wanted from it cause she smiled. "I told you I will find something useful" she boasted
I moved closer to her and nodded. "It's a good thing, you found that" I pointed at the paper she was holding. It contained Salvador's next moves and I wondered if it fell off his pocket by mistake or he used that to distract us.
"Do you think it consists of his next move?" She asked
"Well, we can't say but I will advice will make a plan B, just in case"
She nodded in agreement. "I think that's a good plan". She sighed. "We should go back. The rest will be worried about us"
We returned to meet the rest who were already coming with some warriors. "We should return home, everybody"
**
We gathered in my office for the next step. As usual, I had asked the rest to let Olive make the decision alone. I was afraid she might get angry if we try to stop her from doing what she wants but surprisingly, she asked for everyone's advice. Everyone had one thing or the other to say. Even Ella who seems to be the quiet one when it comes to decision making was able to say something to help us.
In the end, we agreed to lay low until we hear news about his appearance again. We returned to our usual lives with Olive entering back into her shell. At first, I had thought talking to her would be the better idea but I knew better that it isn't. Things remained awkward between us as we waited for news on Salvador's location.
Luck was on our side when Martin said Salvador was spotted at the Starmoon pack. Though there was no news as to what he went there for or if he will be leaving soon, we were hopeful his near is near.
I and Nigel headed to the Starmoon pack after briefing them on the news. I had thought Olive would want to go with us but she said nothing. I wondered if she had changed or she had her plans. It's been difficult to understand what she wants or what she has in mind. "Don't you think Olive is acting strange?" I had asked Nigel after the rest were dismissed.
Nigel only shrugged. "I can't say she is. But I know she isn't going to do anything to hurt herself or anyone"
When I tried to bring up how she had killed some men in the wood some weeks back, Nigel insisted I was taking it too far. He was sure she did that to defend herself. I couldn't help but wonder if I was taking it too far or they are the ones who had refused to accept it. Olive hasn't said anything about it either. I wondered if she remembered or she was trying to put the past behind her.
"We should head for Starmoon pack," Nigel said after a while. I nodded and left the office with him.
Based on our agreement, we were to go as disguises, to prevent being recognized. Though I doubted if any of the Starmoon pack members knows anyone among us, I still went ahead to get changed. We went to rooms to her dressed before meeting up with Martin and Arden who were to join us with two other people. Martin called his informant. They were people who are conversant with the Starmoon pack territory. When we go to the Starmoon pack, we spread ourselves.
I acted like a stranger who had lost his way and needed guidance. I was able to talk to a few people. While asking which way to go, I overheard two men talking about Salvador. They were careful enough not to be loud, so I had to move closer to them, pretending not to hear them. "I heard all the packs from the northern hemisphere who worked with him have been caught and handed over to the elders"
"Isn't that risky for us?" The other asked
"Do you think our alpha will agree to work with him, having heard how those that worked with him have been captured?"
"I think he will. I heard he threatened our alpha"
"If he did threaten our alpha, we might have to work with him against our will"
"Do you know how long he plans to stay here?"
"Maybe a day or two, I heard"
"I wish someone can raid this place and get him out of here"
"I wish same too. I don't want to work with him. I heard he is ruthless"
"I heard that too. Do you know his accomplices were caught by the ruthless alpha?"
"I heard that. If he can show up and help us get him, we'd been safe"
Hearing what they said, I headed back to look for Nigel and the rest so we can make a plan as soon as possible. While we returned to the fire pack, I told Nigel everything I heard. Nigel had something to say too which was similar to mine. We got to the packhouse and called for a meeting. Martin and Arden were present too. They had gathered some information about Salvador's next move. Martin's informants were able to get some information too and had briefed them.
"We've gotten enough information to carry out our next move," Olive said and everyone nodded.
"We can attack my dawn. It's the best time to attack without giving them a hint" Ella said
"And we can split up and cover up every escape root" Bella added
"We will need to attack without hurting any member of the Starmoon. They're not our enemies" Martin said
"Then we will have to know those that belong to Salvador from those that are members of the Starmoon pack" Arden replied
"That will be difficult to know," Ella said
"It might not be" Nigel answered. "But to be on a safer side we should capture everyone that tries to stop us but not kill them. What do you think Nolan?"
I shrugged. Everyone had given a good idea, which one way or the other is right and important. But getting Salvador without hurting someone might be difficult since the Starmoon pack does not know about our coming. Telling them about our coming is risky but not telling them is way too risky too. I sighed. "Everyone has spoken well, I must commend. But you see, it will be difficult to attack without hurting anyone. And we can't say who his men are"
They stared at me and I could tell they find sense in what I had said. Silence loomed for a while until Olive spoke up. "Why don't we lure him?"
I furrowed my brows. Lure?. She wants us to lure him as we lure the packs from the northern hemisphere? It might be simple to say but Salvador is smarter than we think he is. He won't fall for that. "I don't think, luring him is an option. Or what do you guys think?"
"Well, if she tells us how to lure him, it might be an option" Nigel answered
I couldn't accept that. I know Salvador can't be easily deceived. I have done that so many times. "We've tried luring him so many times" Martin answered and I nodded in agreement.
"None of which worked out" Arden added
"That was because he had people to look out for him" Olive
"And they are still on the lookout for him" I answered
"If we can get the alphas from the northern hemisphere speak up. We can use that against him" Olive continued
I nodded in agreement. "Yes. But how will we do that?. They've been loyal to him from the onset. Even after they got exiled, they were still loyal to him and had remained loyal" I answered
"I have an idea," Ella said and we turned to look at her. "Why don't we make him believe we know everything about him"
I furrowed my brows. "How are we going to do that?"
"We meet with the packs from the northern hemisphere and try to persuade them to talk. If we can get a little information from them, we send a message to Salvador's telling him what they said. We tell him they are willing to tell the world everything about him but he can stop them if he meets us at a certain place"
I kinda liked her suggestion but I doubted if it will work. "That's a good one. But don't you think Salvador knows our faces?"
"Not everyone's face" Ella answered. I furrowed my brows. "I will do it. He doesn't know me like he knows you all. I will bring him out"
I turned to look at Olive and she nodded. "Let her do it"
"What if she gets hurt?"
"I can't get hurt. I am born a warrior"
