A SHADOW

The room went silent again after they saw it. Alexander blinked his eyes multiple times still staring at the mirror. He took more steps towards it trying to recollect everything that just happened in a jiff. Out of blue again something started to drag his hand up. He was struggling to make it fall but the energy in him was being drained by unknown magnet. He whined in pain as Linet and Lyn hoped back to reality. It was as if they were in a certain evil spell.

' Alex, what's wrong? Linet quickly asked moving closer to him.'

' This....ouch! It hurts, it's dragging me closer. I think it wants someone to touch the mirror maybe to awake it fully.' Alex muttered struggling with his moving hand.

' Don't touch it, try to concentrate on something else rather than staring at the mirror. I gause your eye contact is what's controlling it.' Lyn immediately responded as they drag Alex away from the mirror.'

As they struggled with him, a strong wave of light strucked them both pushing them towards the wall where Luca was once thrown. A shadow appeared inside the mirror then started murmuring some words which they couldn't understand even though they were hearing. The face of the shadow was so pale and the white gown that it was wearing it has started dripping with blood.'

' COME TO ME! COME FREE ME! COME FREE ME! The shadow roared its nails scratching on the mirror leaving some unknown signs as it disappears.'

' Oh no, what's this? What have l gotten myself into? Linet mumbled her body going paralysed. She was shaking in terror trying to recollect everything.

' Ouch! My back bone just cracked. What the hell that thing was? Alex retorted helping himself to stand.

' Ghosh! It can even speak! Whose gonna free such a scary ghost and.....

' Lyn, Lyn, your boyfriend is downstairs waiting for you.' Luca called dashing in only to find them on the floor.'

' What! He said he'll come next week, what the fuck is he...

' Lyn, sweet heart, am here.' Vicky shouted behind Luca's back.'

' Vicky! Oohh! How.... how did you....

' Are you not happy to see me? He questioned with a grin on his face staring at Alex then to Linet who was still on the floor.'

' Am happy, why should l not? It's just that, you're sudden visit just got me surprised.'

' I had to postponed cause of you. You know since you shifted, it has been hard to cop up all by me. I missed you so much.' he rambled hugging her tightly in his arms not even giving her a space to breath.'

' Wait...yo.. u're.....you're chocking me...l... can't.....breath vicky.' she complained.'

' Oh! Sorry. I was so excited seeing you, am sorry.'

' It's fine.'

' So, what's next. I got some surprises, tonight, l got a thing to show you.'

' Thing? Like?

' No questions it's s secret. I'll be down with Luca and your papa, continue what you were doing, see you later.' he waved walking away.'

' Jeez! He startled me. I can't believe he's here.'

' Isn't he your boyfriend. I gause he has the right to visit you anytime he wants, unlike us,' Alex spouted swallowing hardly a lumb of hatred on his throat.'

' Hey, don't start. I need you all. You're my friends and I'll welcome anybody that l care about.'

' Good, care. You care for him more than us your friends. Well l see. Anyway let's get back to what we were doing.'

' Alex.... Anyway you won't understand.I do take him like a friend not like a boyfriend. I don't like...

' Quiet. I know that, you don't have to say it.' Linet cut.' It's getting late and l don't think if we can go back Alex, will have to spend another night.'

During super, the house was filled with happiness again, laughters could be heard from far as they dig on their food happily. Vicky had already set a camp fire on the outside waiting for everyone to arrive. While still in thoughts, his head turned then looked at the empty field as the sparkles of the fire split in the air. Before he could drag his attention back, a figure appeared in the field which took almost all his attention. While still staring at the unknown figure, he knew that whoever it was, was too staring at him even how the dark was the sky.'

' Is this some kind of a joke human? He shouted having a good view.'

' If you think this is a night of slaughter of some creepy creepy games that you want us to play then am sorry, am busy today.' he added when he saw that what he was talking with wasn't responding nor moving.'

' Huh! Don't tell me you're a statue bitch, just get away from there, you're scaring me you know.'

' Who's scaring you Vicky? Lyn interrupted making Vicky to jump up from his feet.'

' Ooh! You startled me, l was talking to that guy before you...

' Which guy? I can't see anyone?

' Fuck! A guy was standing right there facing me not a minute ago. Where fucking did he disappeared from? He questioned hovering his head around. His hands were on his waist having a good look at the fields.' Don't tell me have started hallucinating at this time of the night?'

' Maybe, or it's the bear that you had with papa.'

' Somehow, anyway stay here am coming. I can see your friends are here too, don't leave yet.' he said pecking her cheeks running back in the house.'

' Where's the bag that had given Luca? Did he put it inside his room or? He questioned himself as he stopped at Luca's room but then decided to enter inside Lyn's. He saw the bag on the bed but before he could pick it, his eyes got a glimpse of the shining mirror Infront of him. His attention was pulled away unknowingly as he take more steps towards it. His two hands started moving simultaneously, then without thinking, they both touched the mirror making it to crack horizontally. His eyes turned blue as the shadow inside the mirror laughs hysterically, with a smirk on the lower lip, he nodded his head at the shadow then walked outside with the bag.'
