My mentor's mentor is a girl

Leon glanced at the girl from head to toe. He chuckled softly and looked down. "I don't think so...you are too young to be the person that taught Knight Barrister how to wield a sword and if I remember correctly, Knight Barrister has been a soldier for at least thirty years, but you barely loon seventeen."

The lady smiled, "I like your reasoning, straightforward. Well if Barry decided to teach that means you must have the skills, let's see." She said as she slowly drew out her sword from its scabbard.

"Really?" Leon asked, at the same time being careful, it has never been in his character to underestimate anyone. He clenched his right hand tight on the claymore, which felt a bit too heavy then he added the other hand and took a defensive stance.

'Oh Shit'

~whiish~

Before he could bat an eye, the lady's sword approached him.

~kangh!~

He swung his sword upward and parried the lady's and immediately grabbed her cloak, pulling her closer and headbutting her. But his head was stopped by her hand. He quickly retracted his head as he saw the lady's knee come at him from below but like that of a strong man, the lady's grip on his head was very rigid, so rigid his head could not escape.

~Pow~

[You have been hit]

[You have lost 56 health points]

'Just for a knee hit?'

~Pow~

[You have been hit again]

[You have lost 59 health points]

'Yes I know so shut the f**k up'

As the lady's knee was coming again, he stopped it with his hand and immediately wrapped them around the lady's waist, digging his feet into the ground. This just turned into sumo wrestling. He lifted the lady and slammed her to the ground, perhaps it was Judo.

She flung up immediately and grabbed her sword, before Leon could get up the sword was already pointing at him.

'She should be the one suffering more damage, so how on earth did she get to stand first?' Leon questioned in his mind.

"I see, you have a rare tenacity and good judgemental skill, no one he chose you"

"Thank you, but I need to find Knight Barrister"

"Barry has been arrested."

"Yes, for sheltering you. Aren't you the rebel?"

She looked at Leon and scoffed. "Temper Kingdom is in a state of unrest and instability all because of that tyrant that sits on the throne."

"Well, all that is not my business, I need to see Knight Barrister, I must learn Moonlit Swordsmanship before I venture out into the world of adventure"

"I like the enthusiasm, fine I'll teach you Moonlit Swordsmanship and something extra but I need your assistance"

[You have received a quest]

'...So she was NPC after all "So what do you need me to help you with?"

"I need to go to the Capital city, but soldiers have been stationed on the outskirts, I need a distraction because I can't afford to waste my efforts on mere soldiers, I still have to reach the capital city and-

"Stop." Leon interrupted. "You don't need to say too much, create a distraction for you right, easy peasy. Teach me the sword style first."

[Quest information]

'Hulala... a hidden quest, is this luck?'

"I have three days to spear. I'll teach you all nine forms in three days after which we will leave for Ordeta" The lady said.

"Yes, master" Leon responded.

"As much as I like your enthusiasm, Lia is fine"

"Alright, Lia," Leon said softly with a bow.

The ??? on the lady changed to Lia(???). Compared to other games where NPCs are always differentiated from players, Age Of Aron was different, the only thing that could be used to differentiate players from NPCs was their mode of dressing and speech. Not that NPCs have regular speech patterns, but most of them have accents. Another unique thing was colour was used to depict the rate of the danger of either a player or NPC. For example, if the player or NPC is a stranger, the name is displayed in white colour, after a little rise in Affinity or being added as a friend, it changes from white to dull yellow, and after becoming friends it changes to green. If the NPC or player is dangerous, in cases of player (PKs) the name is written in red and when it's written in black...well let's leave that till we see one written in black.

The colour of the lady's name Lia changed to dull yellow.

She removed her cloak, revealing her, slim body, she was donned in white clothes. Her shirt reached the abdomen and her pant reached just above her knee and were very tight and black, then she had hard joint guards all over and her black boots. She grabbed her sword.

"First we'll start with understanding the sword. There are different types of swords alright, long sword, short sword, claymore, katana, Jian, Wallace, scimitar, hwando, hoak sword, hambeige, and blah blah blah. In all these swords you must find the one that is meant for you. Sword is beyond just a metal weapon, it's your companion, and extension of your fist, so you want to choose a sword that you can trust your front with, like that claymore you are holding, it's a bad match for you. When you were about to start, you had difficulty figuring it out, which showed that it was your first time using that kind of long sword. I don't have a lot of swords here with me, but there's something we can do." She said and walked towards a tree. She pushed her right leg forward and bent a little bit in a weird stance that Leon has never seen.

"Moonlit sword: Second form: Shattering moon"

~Krrgghhkk~

~Whish~

~Whish~

~Thud!~

Visible flows in the colour of maroon flowed out like the wind as Lia consecutively strikes the tree. all the flows had a diagonal movement to them as if she was striking the flows and not the sword. Leon was consumed and felt an unexplainable ecstasy as he watched.
