3. Fight with Wolf

While he was wearing the robes he suddenly heard the sound of hooves.

Rudra took a peek from the side of the tree. A man riding on a horse was walking in front and a horse carriage was running just behind.

Rudra took the Iron sword from the space and tied it at his waist. He tidied his appearance. His hair was still wet, he shook his head to throw the water out of his hair. Then used his hands to adjust his hairstyle backwards.

He came out of the cover of the tree and started to walk and stopped in the centre of the dirt road. Horse and carriage were still far from where Rudra was standing.

"Looks like my hearing has also increased due to genetic potion. They are still a kilometer from here and I heard the sound of hooves from here loud and clear. This will be very useful in the future." While Rudra was mumbling as the horse carriage was getting near and near.

At around 500 meters from Rudra, the man on the horse noticed him standing in the centre of the road. He became slightly cautious and led the horse beside the horse carriage. He whispered something to the carriage and then again started to lead the carriage but at a much slower speed than before.

After 5-6 minutes, they stopped 50 meters from the position where Rudra was standing. Rudra was observing the horseman. He was an unrefined, bearish looking 35 year old man. There were few pieces of leather armour to protect his vital organs. There was very little sharpened blunt looking sword.

"Who are you? Why are you standing in the centre of the road blocking our way?" The horseman was full of vigilance. He has a sword in one hand and a horse's reign in his other hand ready to charge if Rudra made any move.

"Hello Friend, My name is Rudra. I am just a wanderer who lost his way to the city in the forest. I found this road and started to follow it. While following the road I heard the sound of hooves and found your carriage on the road.

So I stopped to find out whether you could tell me the way to the city. It would be very appreciated." Rudra made him look weak in front of them to reduce his threat to them.

"Oh, You can find the Royal Capital city around 30 km away from here if you follow this road." The horseman sighed in relief and said while pointing his finger toward the road where Rudra was standing. But he didn't relax his guard. There were many bandits now who ambushes merchants on the road.

"Thank you, I really appreciate your help." Rudra thanked them while holding his hands close to his chest in a namaste position. Then he stepped aside from the road and made a gentlemanly gesture with his arms to let them go first.

The horseman and horse carriage started to move forward. The man or woman in the carriage didn't show up even once. The horseman was full of vigilance and didn't let his guard down until they were far away from Rudra.

Rudra also didn't start to walk until they went far away from him. He knew their concerns and cooperated with them. Then he put the sword in inventory and started walking towards the Royal Capital City. While walking on the road he was mumbling to himself.

'I think the system deliberately transported me near the Royal capital city. In the medieval era who could give the noble title and give territory away, only the king. So, maybe there is a way to get the territory from the king.'

While thinking he was walking faster and faster and soon walking turned into jogging.

"Even while jogging I don't feel anything. My breathing didn't even have any fluctuation. This is definitely the effect of the Genetic Strengthen potion."

He jogged for 1 hour straight. He still felt nothing like he was walking on the road leisurely, only his heartbeat sped a little, but just only a little.

'Howwwwwl'

While jogging Rudra suddenly heard a wolf's loud howl ahead of him. He stopped at the spot. He immediately picked the sword from the inventory and looked around vigilantly.

After a few seconds from the First howl, two more wolfs howled together. After looking around for a few seconds, when Rudra found nothing he started to walk forward slowly while holding the sword in his right hand.

He was walking on the road with full vigilance. When he walked for around 1 kilometre. He heard the sound of fighting. He heard some sounds of humans shouting.

Rudra ran forwards but didn't let his guard up. He didn't run at his full speed and left some leeway for himself so that if anything happened to him in the middle of running, he could act or avoid it.

After running for a few seconds, he saw the same carriage that gave him directions, parked in the centre of the road. Three wolves were surrounding the carriage. The Rought warrior was guarding the carriage while diverting the wolf's charge. There was a 30 year old man behind the Warrior holding a Iron sword similar to that of the Warrior. He was slightly thinner than the Warrior.

One wolf was very large compared to other wolfs. Other wolves were of similar size to Earth's wolfs. The two smaller wolfs were attacking the horseman while the bigger wolf was standing behind them like he was enjoying the show.

Rudra saw this scene, he stopped 100 meters away from them. He was not a fool to just jump into the battle without any preparation. And even with the help of the Genetic Strengthen potion, he was very strong, but don't forget that he was still a newb to fighting. He never fought with anyone.

"Whether to help or not. After defeating them the wolfs may come after him and If I don't help them, then maybe I can't sleep at night with peace in the future." He was in a very big conflict about whether he should help them or not. He was analyzing the situation very fast.

Suddenly he got a notification on the screen. He unconsciously clicked on the notification. In this situation, no one has time to check the message but who made him an amateur?

[You have a new Urgent Side mission:

Mission: Protect the horseman and the Merchant.

Description: It is up to your will whether to protect them or not.

Mission requirements: Kill all the wolfs or make them retreat.

Mission rewards: A Special Knights full equipment set made of composite steel. [Knight full plate composite steel armor {30 Kg}, composite steel gauntlet {0.5 Kg each}, A composite steel Longsword {3 Kg} and Composite rectangular shield {7Kg}]

When Rudra saw the reward of the mission, his eyes were wide open. He immediately decided.

"Let's help."

Rudra immediately acted, he started to run slowly while lifting the sharp end of the sword slightly upward. He slowly picked up the speed more and more and when he reached top speed, he was vanishing from one spot and immediately covered tens of meters in few seconds.

He covered the 100 meters in less than 10 seconds. When Rudra came close to wolfs, he clenched the sword tightly, he was facing the side of wolfs and horsemen. He didn't wait or hesitate and directly stab the lower side of the throat of one wolf.

The speed of the stab was so great that the tip of the sword was cutting the air making air pressure on the sides of the sword. A light flashed on the blade of the sword. The wolf who was facing the attack of the sword from the side felt a huge danger, his instinct was screaming.

To avoid the attack he lifted his head unconsciously. The sword slightly grazed the lower side of the throat leaving a dark red line on the white coloured throat of the wolf. Due to the genetic strengthening potion, Rudra's static and dynamic vision became very good like top special commandos.

When he saw that his attack slightly missed, he immediately braked at full speed. He immediately stopped and then took a step back with full strength and jerked the sword upward. Being caught off guard, the sword again cut deep into the former spot, slashing the previous shallow wound.

The blood started to splatter in large amounts painting the ground red. Rudra quickly took a step back and made a few metres distance from the other wolfs.

The Horseman, the merchant and the wolfs stood there dumbfounded looking at the wolf which was bleeding continuously like an open tap. Their minds were still processing what happened there in a flash.

Rudra use small but quick steps and came by the side of the Horseman and merchant.

"Hello mate, we meet again." Rudra greeted both of them but still pointed the sword toward the wolfs.

"Ah, yes we meet again. Thank you, sir, for your help." The horseman first replied to Rudra in a stupor but quickly come to his senses and thanked him for his help.

"Don't worry. Let's talk after we dealt with them." Rudra said while pointing towards wolfs.

"Yes."

Watching his one of subordinates bleeding to death, The wolf king quickly came in front to fight with humans. He was furious, that these puny humans who he doesn't even take seriously killed one of his subordinates.

He ran towards Rudra at a very fast speed. He quickly attacked Rudra with his claws.

"You deal with smaller one. I will deal with this." Rudra said to the horseman while dodging the attack of the wolf and slashed the sword on the paw that attacked him leaving a deep cut.

'Whimper'

The wolf king whimpered feeling strong pain from his paw, he tried to back away making some distance between them. But Rudra didn't give him this chance, he quickly attacked the wolf king leaving various cuts all over his body.

The Wolf King was panting heavily and bleeding all over his body making his blue and white fur red. His movement became sluggish. Rudra didn't take the risk and directly slashed the sword at the wolf king's next with full strength. Due to excessive bleeding and tiredness the wolf king could not react.

The sword fell on the neck, the strength and sharpness of the sword were so great that the sword cut the neck like tofu. It didn't feel any resistance. The body of Wolf King fell to the ground, he couldn't be more dead.

Rudra then quickly killed the remaining wolf by combining forces with the horseman.

The horseman sat on the side panting heavily tilting his weight on the sword. On the contrary, Rudra looked like he came out to walk.

'Hey, why do I seem to enjoy the fight with wolfs?' Rudra thought while sitting on a stone.
