Chapter 016 - Meal Together

The meal is silent and tense. Genos is looking daggers at me while I eat my breakfast. Saitama, on the other hand, is oblivious. Like me, he is eating nonchalantly. He doesn't see the way Genos glares at me.

As if an idea pops into his head, Genos asks, "What are your plans for today, Saitama-sensei?"

"I plan to finish the anime that King has left me."

"No!" Genos rejects. He even slams his palms on the table. He glances at me and then back at Saitama. "You should stroll around to hunt monsters!"

Saitama grimaces. Before he can respond, I interject, "I will also stay. Not much to do in the Blizzard group for the meantime."

As expected, Genos scowls at me—something that I ignored. Instead, I take my and Saitama's plate and move towards the kitchen. I start to wash the dishes while I let Genos change Saitama's plan of staying in the apartment to watch anime.

Once I am done, I return to where Genos and Saitama are. This time, the table is in the corner. The futons are well into the side. The floor is clean and Saitama is starting up the TV. Genos‌ is beside him while he continues to persuade Saitama.

I grin. Seems like I win this round. I move closer to them. Saitama starts to watch and I observe him. Memories of my arms and legs around him rise in my mind. I blush and yet, I couldn't help but think how warm it is in his embrace. How safe and secure. And somehow, I want to return to that kind of feeling.

Being oblivious to Genos' stares, I plop myself on Saitama's lap and wrap my arms around his neck. Saitama pulls his body away from mine, while Genos stands up. He is giving me a threatening look. I smirk at him.

"Ahm, Fubuki, what are you doing?" Saitama asks.

"Your unit is small and I have nothing to sit on," I answer, but my eyes are still on Genos. He is getting red in his fury.

"Then what are you doing in this tiny place?!" Genos blurts out. "You should leave!"

I giggle. Then I press my chest against Saitama's. "I am enjoying where I am now."

"You—"

I watch how his arms reach out to me. I feel anxious. He is an S-class. Even if I tease him a lot, he is still stronger than me. It was of instinct when my arms tighten more around Saitama. I am also about to close my eyes when suddenly, Saitama stands up and I drop to the ground.

I scowl at him. Falling from his lap is painful!

"What—"

"I remember, the Heroes association needs me for another mission."

"Hey, wait!" I call, but Saitama is already wearing his hero uniform and within minutes, he is out of the unit. Thus, leaving me with Genos.

I groan in frustration. My seduction plan is going well and this little boy is ruining it! Annoyed, I crawl towards the TV and shut it off. I stand up and then face Genos.

"You win. He's off for his hero hunting activities now." I click my tongue. Just when I thought I cornered him, Saitama slips my net once again! This is proving harder than I expected!

Genos's chin rises. Looking down at me, he says, "Of course. I am his student."

My eyebrow raises. "You are saying all that and yet, not once did he mention that you are his apprentice!"

There is a growling sound that comes from his throat. I wonder how these sounds work? The way it comes out of him makes it seem like he is not a cyborg at all. His creator might be a genius.

"Then?" I ask.

"Then what?" he asks, returning the question to me.

"When are you going to leave?"

"Why will I leave?"

The corner of my lips turns upward. "Don't tell me you are jealous? But instead of Saitama, you plan to be alone with me?" I start. "Sorry, but I don't like little boys who are way younger than I am."

If he was red earlier out of anger, he is blazing red now. I smirk. He is furious.

"Be lucky that Saitama-sensei told me not to hurt weak, little things, or I could have already killed you!"

Instead of answering his threats seriously, I guffaw and say, "You will kill me because my attention is on Saitama? Why not join me in the Blizzard group? I can give you some of my attention."

"You!"

In alarm, I take a step backward, but then his fist stops an inch away from my nose. "Stop testing my patience!"

I snort. "You have no patience to be proud of."

I walk towards the veranda. With the gentle wind hitting my face, I start to activate my ability. I am all about determination, persistence, and of dedication. Soon, Saitama will have no choice but to fall for me. Then, he will confess his feelings. He won't be able to fight it. And unlike now, he won't be able to escape.

And so, fully activated, I hover from the veranda and to the floor, both my necklaces and bracelets making a chiming sound.

**********************

I didn't find Saitama. I am not even sure if he is still doing rounds around city Z or did he already left and took on monster appearances in other cities. After that, the days become hectic, with the issue of Garou and the monster association getting resolved. It was too busy that I didn't have the time to flirt with Saitama!

I enter the Blizzard office and take off my fleece coat. I place it on the back of the swivel chair.

"Miss Fubuki, you are back!" It's Lily.

I shift my attention to her. "I should say that to you. You are well now?"

She grins. "Yes, ma'am!"

"And the others?"

"Getting better!"

She also looks energetic. It's as if she's not wounded at all.

"Ah!" she suddenly exclaims. "I will bring you some refreshments! My relatives from the province brought me a couple. It is a get-well box! And the contents are too much so I thought to bring some of it here."

Before I can even nod, she's already out of the room. I sit on the swivel chair and start checking the documents. I need to distribute these missions among the Blizzard group.

I haven't been working for half an hour when Lily returns.

"Here you go," she says, placing a tall glass of fruit juice. She also designed it with a tiny umbrella and flowers around the rim.

"You don't have any part-time today?"

She shakes her head. "Since our operations are down, should we go and dip on the beach? The issue with the Monster Association and the Hero Hunter has been resolved. And you are already free right?"

"Yes, I am." I turn my attention to her and cross my legs. "What do you suggest?"

"How about we go to a public pool? We can invite all the recuperating B-class."

"Hmmm…" I mutter while sipping on the fruit juice. It might be a good idea to go out and have a team building again. It's been a while since the last time. And this might also remove the stress of the past few days.

"What do you think, Miss Fubuki?" Lily asks again.

"Okay, let's do it. Gather the members and those who can. Let's have another team bonding!"
