Chapter 21 Why the Anger

"...I mean, you don't even know my name or where I'm from, and you're letting me follow you?"

Russell couldn't help but counter, "Then who are you exactly?"

Truth be told, Russell found it hard to grasp the lion's logic in action.

It seemed less human-like, more beast-like.

Utterly fearless, it acted without any reservations.

But faced with Russell's query, the dignified White Lion just grinned, revealing a ferocious and bloody "smile."

Among humans, "showing a smile" is usually to ease hostility. It's a sign of pleasure and goodwill.

Yet when the White Lion did the same, it seemed more like a predator opening its jaws wide, ready to feast—only causing shivers to run down one's spine.

"Is there any need to ask?"

The lion chuckled lowly, a roar-like bass resonating in the heart: "Absolutely unnecessary.

"You and I are both Mages. Both forsaken children walking the Dream Realm... You and I are allies, not enemies."
