Russell had been waiting in the office until almost noon when he heard a knock at the door.
He reached out into the void, using the temporary authority granted to him by Cui Que to open the door.
"So, so sorry, Mr. Ultramarine—We're late!"
The flustered voice of Paradise Bird came from the doorway, "I'm really sorry for keeping you waiting!"
"Ah, it's okay."
Russell sat in Cui Que's spot, his tone as calm and gentle as Cui Que's, "I don't have much to do today… Please, take a seat, all three of you."
This was a lie.
He was exceptionally busy today. He wasn't even this busy on a typical month.
But there was no need to tell this to Paradise Bird… Since Paradise Bird was already late, mentioning it now would only add to this Little Dove's worries and guilt.
And furthermore…
With just a glance, Russell knew Cui Que's jealousy was probably for naught.
Because behind Paradise Bird were two men with halos above their heads.
