Chapter 14 The City Without Light

Russell felt a strong discomfort upon arriving at God Communication Island.

It was almost the complete opposite of Sun Island, where sunlight was abundant.

This place was simply too gloomy and dim.

Even the narrow and crowded Third Disc would not deprive its residents of sunlight. The idlers who had nothing to do loved nothing more than to bask in the sun on bed chairs by the street.

The Spiritual Energy of Thoth would never rob anyone of their right to bask in the sun. Even the imprisoned criminals could apply to soak in the sun for one or two hours a day as a break. The tradition they left behind regarded the sun as something sacred.

They believed that without sun exposure, people would become ill and trees would decay. Even prosthetic bodies made of metal should be taken out for a sunning occasionally, lest the negative energy clinging to them drive people insane—yes, they saw sunbathing as a way to prevent cyber-mental illness.
