"I'm going to call my son and ask if he gave us the wrong address; this doesn't look like... a place where ordinary people live," Mom said from the passenger seat.
She took out her phone and dialed Wang Ye's number.
The call connected quickly, and just as Mom was saying they had arrived but hadn't yet asked anything else, she heard Wang Ye laughing, "I can see your car now; just drive on in."
Mom was looking around in bewilderment, trying to spot her son, when she saw the large red door studded with brass nails slowly opening and her son's figure emerging, waving to them.
Dad hesitated for a moment but still slowly started driving the car toward the gate.
When they arrived at Wang Ye's side, he pulled open the rear car door, climbed in, greeted his parents with a smile, and then said, "Just drive along the path; there's still some distance from the gate to the main building."
