Attack

Shouts and screams mingled into a commotion.  Vio turned around trying to find out what was going on, when finally her eyes caught a crowd behind the school, Vio rushed over to her.

Devia is there.  Crying sitting with hands and uniform covered in blood.

Vio's heart was beating fast, panic and fear blended into one.  Vio walked closer, pushing the body that was in the way, trying to reach Devia-her sister as quickly as possible, when Vio saw the body.  Daniel—Devia's close friend—who lay beside her with a gaping wound on his neck.  Vio felt her stomach churning.  Nausea soon approached.

However, Vio tried to hold it in by squatting beside Devia.

"Devia, Devia, are you all right?"

Devia who realized her sister's presence immediately embraced Vio.  She shook her head as she sobbed.  The girl's body trembled.  In all his life, Vio had never seen Devia this scared.

"I... I heard him scream, sis Vio. When I found Daniel, he... he... he was already like this."

Vio patted Devia's back gently, trying to calm her sister who was sitting one level below her at Shadowfall High School.  Anyone who witnessed such a horrific thing would surely give that person a deep shock.

A teacher came to check the situation, soon an ambulance followed.

They put Daniel on a gurney and carried him into the car.

"W... Is he... Will Daniel die, Sis Vio?"  Devia asked scared.  She still hugged Vio while standing.

Vio shook his head.  "No, Devia. I hope not."

Then Vio's eyes caught the figure accidentally.  Flash.  Either Al or Ash.  Vio couldn't tell the difference.  The boy was standing alone at the far end.  When he realized Vio's gaze was right on him, the boy then turned and walked away.

The cafeteria was filled with many students and students who wanted to fill their stomachs.  Some are eating food at the table, some are still waiting in line.

Ash one of the students was looking at one of the cheers students who had been looking at him, when suddenly Al stood in front of him and closed his eyes.

Ash chuckled as he rolled his eyes.

"What's wrong, Al?"  he asked lazily without looking at Al and chose to take a sip of the lemonade cola that was on the table.

"We need to talk, Ash," said Al ignoring his twin brother's indifference.

Ash shrugged.  "Please. Just talk," he said casually.

"Not here, Ash."  After saying like Al walked out of the cafeteria.

Ash chuckled as he shook his head.  He took another sip of his lemonade cola, gave one of the three cheers a slight glance, who seemed pleased at his response, before finally walking out of the cafeteria following Al.

They passed several streets and school hallways filled with students, some of whom took the time to look at the twins who walked past them.

Until then, the two arrived at a deserted area behind the school.  However, not in a place where a student was attacked.  Because the place has now been installed with a police line where people are not allowed to cross during the investigation period.

"What are you talking about?"  Ash asked.  His face looks bored.

Al threw one hard punch in Ash's face.

Causing the unprepared Ash to stagger a few steps back.

One of his hands rested on the wall while the other he used to wipe the traces of blood that had flowed from his cracked lips.

"I know for sure you did the attack on the Rains High student earlier, Ash," said Al when he saw the annoying grin on his brother's face.

"I'm warning you, Ash. This is the last time. Do not do it again," he threatened.

Ash put on a feigned expression of fear.  Making Al sigh at his brother's behavior.

Al was about to leave when suddenly Ash lunged at him so hard that he fell on the ground.

Ash came closer and crouched beside him.

"We are vampires, Al. It's our nature to drink human blood.

Humans are just part of the food chain.  There is no need to use morals, let alone the heart, just for something we eat.  We..."

A cell phone rang.

Viona swore in her heart to anyone who sent a message to her at a crucial time like this.

She prayed silently that the two men who were fighting didn't hear a message from his cellphone.

However, it seems that her prayers were not answered.  Because suddenly a strong wind hit her face.  Then when she opened her eyes, Ash was standing in front of him.

"Hi, food," Ash greeted, which made Viona's neck tingle and her heart thumping loudly.  A smirk played on his face before finally his handsome face turned ghastly accompanied by the appearance of a pair of elongated fangs.
